I have done the BIC and IBAN bank thing a few times recently, it's quite easy to do, just email them the numbers copied from your bank account and they pay you, no fees.

Why would you go to Cork to pick up someone you don’t know.

Well it would be a good fare.

How much would be a good fare ?

BIC and IBAN sound like two Russian names pronounced by someone with a harelip! 8)

If you have a credit card terminal you can take a phone payment, take a deposit of say €150 all you need is card number, expiry date and ccv number,if you have sum up you can send a peyment link to potential customer.

I have sumup. Didn't even know you could do that.

Go into checkout put in price it gives you 2 options card reader or payment link then send via sms then customer can pay via the app or a a guest.

Just after seeing this before I read your message, thanks.

Do any of you do similar trips? I'm talking about 2 to 4 hour trips, pick passengers you don't know up a few hours away.

Yes many times the fact you don’t know them I’d be looking for full fare upfront or at least half , never had a problem myself.

Must give it a try. Would you always use sum up?

Sum up , PayPal or Revolut all work for me .

Same bank network to same bank network is almost instant.

Is it not common enough sense that if your doing a long job...say over 50 kilometers...its cash on the dash or just stick ur card in there and pay a deposit or the agreed price..most normal people have no issue with that..

I think the passengers want taxi1990 to drive down empty to Cork and only then pick them up and maybe drive them back to Dublin.

That is right. I was wondering about the customer contesting the paypal payment, that is why I would be warry.

can they not contest a Revolut payment?

Latest one would be around 500 +, 4 hour journey though or more.

https://www.transportforireland.ie/fares/taxi-fare-estimator/

€385 - €590
1 person daytime.

Dublin to Cork was just an example. That wasn't the fare I was asked about. I don't work in Dublin.

 ???  ???  ???  ???  ???

Say someone wants you to drive from Dublin to Cork for a fare. You want a deposit paid in advance, what is the best way to do this?

You can't get cash before you leave Dublin. They are in cork. I'm talking about how they can pay me digitally in advance. I'm talking about strangers here as well, someone you never met before. I never take them kind of trips if they are that long but I might if I can get paid a substantial deposit before I leave to do the trip.
