Pick up ....arrive at destination....and wait for next job ...

Looking for urban  jobs mostly  to avoid traffic

I do the odd airport but mostly refuse .. too much empty miles on the motorway...

Avoid fatties   on street hails

I reckon I used about €12/15 worth of juice the other day with the aircon in about seven hours. The lads in the bigger diesels must be using over €30 a shift.

Octy city driving is where your Prius does the best mileage. The aircon is fairly efficient too. We'd be crying to Joe Duffy if it wasn't so busy.

I wonder if the juice prices are deterring any lads from out of Dublin coming in and working.

Yea but if I'm stuck in traffic like I was yesterday going nowhere for nearly an hour on account of the pride ting that I forgot bout an walked into ....the engine keeps cutting in to charge the battery....yur gettin no regenerative deceleration wen yur not movin ...I reckon hybrid is inefficient in that case

Ah Octy tt uses very little power if it's in traffic. The air con when it came out was one of the most efficient ever designed. You should be still doing better than me as your heap is more modern.I make a point of running the aircon as the battery cooling is coming from the cabin vent.

You dont need air con really, it is Ireland not Spain. I dont even have air con, the cold air blower does the job. It broke in my taxi on Monday the hottest day of the year, that wasnt nice but got it fixed the next day. You couldnt drive in warm weather without the cold air blower but you can definitely do without air con in my opinion.

The dash on my yoke is huge and on a warm day it's like a big radiator in yer face.Combined with the dark colour paint means not using the air con isn't really an option.I'm in slow traffic most if the day and you'd barely get a breeze from leaving down the windows.

It would be handy when you get over 25 degrees but when does that happen. my next taxi will have it I suppose.
