Just banged out an E mail to the taxi thingey ...

Please explain this line from your guidance for Public transport services @ Marley Park ..The area identified for pick up and drop off will be designed to facilitate taxi, private hire and uber.

Since when do UBER operate anything other than a Licenced Taxi Service in The Republic of Ireland or Private hire .Please explain why UBER are mentioned outside of this criteria
 I look forward to you explaining or withdrawing this obvious blatant promotion of a Taxi dispatcher in an official publication .While not mentioning every other taxi dispatcher .
Regards .

But why mention one brand UBER what is an UBER under the regulations .To me it is a dispatch brand like Free Now or Lynk  of NRC  .Why did it get a shoutout in this publication ?

Freenow pulled out of the limo market so Uber a means black car limo service for most people.

Maybe the NTA are trying to show the whingers that are calling for Uber that Uber is already here in licenced vehicles.

I'd say one of the staff rushed out the bulletin to the NTA website.No malice was involved IMO.

It's irrelevant as nobody in their right mind would drive up their empty hanging around for a job.A lot of folks including myself left the venue as it was a bit shite TBH.Plenty of street work between Dundrum and Marley park an hour before the gig ended if you wanted it.I walked to the Luas and fecked off.

Definitions
3. (1) In these Regulations -
“cashless payment” means payment by means of credit card, debit card or other payment instrument within the meaning of Article 4 of Directive (EU) 2015/2366 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2015;
“cashless payment device” means a physical electronic payment device accepting point of sale card-based payment transactions, using the methodologies of Near Field Communication (contactless) and a PIN (personal identification number) with a magnetic stripe or chip;

Sumup will be fine.  I wonder if that definition rules out Revolut?

The good news for drivers is it's only a €200 fine.You could absorb a couple of fines a year accepting cash only and still be up overall.Whos really gonna bother their hole complaining.Not that many.
