Listening to a TAXI representative who writes in a Magazine .Telling Me Uber have 1000 drivers in Dublin I tell him they are taxi drivers not Uber drivers they drive taxis under the UBER Brand .He see them as a Danger but His Magazine also Carry Adverts for every other App .Do drivers really think if Rideshare was ever allowed that Every App Company would let UBER have it to themselves .

I wonder do drivers understand what UBER are and the difference between a Taxi Driver working for UBER and an UBER Driver .

Kinda related but....have any of yis been asked recently to join any of the taxi unions that keep getting interviews on our media outlets?.Last time I got asked to join was by TNth about ten years ago and ya don't hear much from them.

So where are the unions recruiting and do they have even half as many members as they used to with the amount of older lads retiring.They couldn't have more than a few hundred members out of a fleet of thousands at this stage.

About the taxi mag I haven't seen one of them in a long time.I suspect the readership is greatly exaggerated to sell adverts.I wouldn't believe any of the shite that's in it but that's just me.

Merch I was on Prime Time about 7 years ago Explaining to Paddy Kenny that there was an anomaly where a Student could get a taxi driving licence but did not have the Right to use that licence as they were restricted to 20 hours a week and could not be monitored plus there were restrictions placed on Student Employees and what Industries they could operate in .So I had Pat listening when A Rep from a Magazine interrupted telling him about Suicides .Pat asked how many and he couldnt answer then He said that Taxi drivers were also being messed about because the Queen was visiting .Kenny asked is the Queen responsible for taxi drivers Suicides .I kid you not .The Great Frankie once said stay away from Microphones ,he wasent wrong .

I know yer man John and I meet him now and again on the ranks.He's a nice chap but they're never gonna speak ill of any of their advertisers who just happen to be most of the cab and app companies.The quality of the mag isn't great IMO.It seems to be written by someone who hasn't been in the industry for the last ten years.

Most of the Uber stuff in the times was on the lobbying website year's ago.Nothing new to me.

Merch I spoke to A TD and said to him If they bring in Rideshare I will go on the Dole work the Weekends and then Claim my capital writeoffs and so will thousands of others .What is to stop anybody from becoming an UBER rideshare driver and claiming Capital Expenses .Why would the Government want to put 12000 full time self employed people back on the Dole and Pay them to work Part time ? Rideshare will never happen .

If rideshare came in all the lads with the 20k grants could quickly flog their leccy cars for a decent profit and buy something cheaper regardless of any NTA contracts.Most of us would just go and work for rideshare apps after a few protests.Those apps would likely be the same ones we have already just with slightly more commission.

Just replace the roofsign with a pingpong ball on the Ariel and carry on carrying on .I dont think I would need any app to access a fare .

At least one of them will have to merge or die. None of them reacted quickly enough to the apps. Funds should have been combined years ago to match the apps.

jerry brennan had earlier mentioned to pat kenny that he personally knew drivers who had committed suicide. kenny asked him to talk about. the next driver you're talkin about was making the simple remark that there was a hullabaloo about the queen visitin ireland but there is'nt a hullabaloo about suicide in Ireland.  pat kenny patronisingly scoffed over him like a cunt and said the queen of england is'nt responsible for suicides in the taxi game.

Not talking Bollox this is a Clown .Brennan not much better .Here is the reality .All the Big Multinationals in Ireland that is ALL of them Combined employ 250,000 people .Our industry Employs about 25,000 thats 10% of the total ALL the Multinationals Employ .Not one  of the Big Foreign employers employ more people than our industry .Ask your self why Shen Izakson from Apple or Giddion Hamdbrake the third from Face Book can get on the phone and demand a meeting with the minister of their choice or get preferential treatment .Its fucking Morons like these who keep putting themselves forward as representatives of our  industry that make a Fucking Laughing Stock of all of Us .

I was there Brennan and Tony had no research done no figures .Just ranting and raving .They did not know if there were more Plumbers or Electricians committing Suicide .How would they know why Some unfortunate decided to hurt themselves .It was absolutely tasteless to raise this as an issue when they were trying to say there were too many taxis .

Like Merch asked are any of you members of the Groups these lads claim to represent ?
