Fighting back against Revolut.
Trump has called for help, so I'm on a plane heading for The Strait of Hormuz, talk soon.

Not an exact answer for you but it seems a lot of young people have moved to Revolut for payments.  Talking to a guy about it today and sounds good but you have to tell them your mobile number to get paid.  But I'm not sure I want to give randomers my mobile number in case I start getting stupid calls at 3am in the morning about how I overcharged them or whatever.

I took a revolut payment last night and then processed the job through FN only to discover it was down as an app payment.
The guy came back over to the car and I revolted him back! 8)

You can get a Square Card reader. Pretty much the same as a Sumup (but a lot smaller). Only problem is that the reader is very, very picky about which phones it will pair with. I got one (when they were on sale for a fiver) and it will only work with 1 phone out of 5 that I tried.
But.....the square App will take manual payments without connecting to the Reader. They do charge a few % more if you use this feature, but at least it's an option if you're stuck with just a Sumup that won't work for some reason. AFAIK you don't need to get their reader for this, just download the App, input your details and you're good to go.

No need to give your phone no to get paid on Rev. Their is a very quick and simple bar code scanner on both apps or you can give your Revolut ID, e.g. @Wattyag72

You don’t have to give them your phone number to pay you. There is a QR code on the top right when you press the two arrows at the bottom of the home screen. They scan it and pay you

The Boffin from Balbriggan suggested 'Opt out' from the start.
I read the Sum-up/mastercard email and followed his advice.

Opted out, seems to have worked as I didn't get a card.

From the sumup email;
"you can edit your payout settings in the SumUp app at any time."
"From 19.10.2022, you’ll receive your payouts in your new account".

So if we dont want the card, do we have to find a new company to deal with card payments or what?
it says there isn't any charges on the card. is it best to stay or what is going on?

I'm no expert at this but the email states that if you do nothing they set it all up fer you, and seemingly there are no fees ??
As your IN now prob best to stick it out ??

I read the email, heard what the Balbriggan Boffin suggested on here and opted out.
