I see the money sitting in the business account. not sure what to do now. do i send it to my bank account myself or get sumup to send it to my bank account? it says i have 3 steps of the 4 to complete to set up the account. the other is to download the app.
id say i will leave them not just on principle for pissing me off about this card.

Problem is we can't just leave sumup.  We have to have a card reader now by law so you'd have to get a replacement reader first.

I was looking at Square reader for €19+VAT.  Same idea as Sumup & commission is around the same.  Oddly enough you can buy a little dock/stand for it (unlike sumup) but it's almost double the price of the reader itself! But mgb1979 said on page 2 said it was a bit finicky...

You can get a Square Card reader. Pretty much the same as a Sumup (but a lot smaller). Only problem is that the reader is very, very picky about which phones it will pair with. I got one (when they were on sale for a fiver) and it will only work with 1 phone out of 5 that I tried.
But.....the square App will take manual payments without connecting to the Reader. They do charge a few % more if you use this feature, but at least it's an option if you're stuck with just a Sumup that won't work for some reason. AFAIK you don't need to get their reader for this, just download the App, input your details and you're good to go.

Edit:  Looking at the reader, it doesn't have a keypad.  So if someone for whatever reason had to type in a PIN, I think they'd have to use the keypad on your Phone/app.  So possibly a security risk as they could do a runner with your phone?

What brand of fucking stupid are you .You were told what to do to stop them paying your money into their account did you do it .

FFS do you want us to drive the fucking car for you ..Dear john,

We can confirm that your SumUp Business Account has now been closed, and we’ve now permanently blocked your SumUp Card.

We advise you to destroy the card as it will no longer be valid.

Please also note that closing your SumUp Business Account will not affect your SumUp profile and you will be able to continue transacting.

There hasn't been a bit of a barney around here in ages. Was getting a bit boring tbh. Nice one lads!

Also if anyone is looking for an alternative to sumup I use cabapp and have not had any problems yet.

..... What brand of fucking stupid are you .You were told what to do.....

Possibly the same brand of stupid that does not read emails sent to them that are about the business that they are employed in ??

I dont answer E mails from uninvited sources .just straight to trash .

To add, you too were advised by the Boffin from Balbriggan about how to opt out, but you took no notice !

Sumup air reader + dock €44 free delivery.
https://store.sumup.com/en-IE/dashboard/product-selection/card_reader.air_bundle?source=dashboard&nextInternalLocale=en-IE

The air reader is €39 on it's own and just a Fiver extra if you want the dock thing with it.

To add as your in the mood fer a barney Horse, the only reason you stick with cab-app is because you are both too lazy and too stoopid to change over to a better device, with sum-up you would halve your commission rate and the device only needs to be charged every 3 months....not every 3 days !!

As your from Fookin Tallaght I'll give ya a pass on the stoopid issue, but not on the laziness !

I successfully opted out no problem .I dont waste my time reading E mails I get 100 of them .I posted about this simply to inform lads that might have standing orders coming out of their bank account that these cunts were hijacking your coin .Why can they pay you same  day if you have a card but you have to wait days if you dont .Why should we have to opt out what has happened is YOUR money has been diverted to their account without your express permission .

Judging by your recent posts I wouldnt say No Problem.... but what ever !

Go into the app and go to live talk or message .Send them a note that you do not want their Business account ,Do not click on it or activate the card .Tell them you want them to leave your old settings ......
......Look at the fuckology I told them I dont want their Business account they confirm I told them but still want me to tell them to fuck off with another E Mail .

So do I and I seldom read any of them, except the ones that relate directly to the business that I am employed in. I would rather read those emails myself than hear about them second hand on here.
