Driving Instructor
« on: November 28, 2022, 03:35:12 pm »
One of our Colleagues trained as a Driving Instructor during Covid and Has a 100% pass rate among his students {true }I considered it but lok at this AI in operation .....Ireland’s first virtual driving school has been shortlisted for two awards in the Road Safety Authority’s (RSA) Leading Lights Award.

The Dundalk-based Drive Virtual Academy has been nominated in two categories: Education and Future.

Founder Paul Brady is thrilled that the driving school, which he set up just over a year ago, has been nominated by satisfied customers.

"I’m absolutely delighted as it meant that people who came here for lessons were so pleased that they nominated us tor the awards. It shows that we are doing something right.”

Based on a concept which Paul and his late wife Briege had seen when on holidays in France, the academy offers driving lessons on driving lessons on simulators.

Located in Williamson’s Mall, it is  designed to create a safe, carbon neutral, learning environment to enable drivers to get the skills set and experience before venturing out on the road.

Since opening in November 2021, the academy has built up a close relationship with local schools, the National Learning Network, Wilton House,  and the Golden Hearts Youth Club.

They also cater for learner drivers and people wishing to improve their driving skills.

The academy has been shortlisted in the education category which recognises the design and originality of educational initiatives, from early childhood to third level and community, which have made a significant impact on the teaching or practice of road safety within an educational environment.

It has also been nominated for the Future award which is for an individual, business or organisation that displays innovation and forward-thinking in promoting road safety.

The winners will be presented with their awards at the Leading Lights Awards Ceremony in Croke Park on December 13.

rofl rofl rofl Carbon neutral driver learning .Big Dommo told me when he was a lad you use to pull out before you came before you got the Marriage Licence now its no emissions before you get a driving licence .See the Cabbages want to Go Back to the Future with Deposits on Bottles and Cans .We use to bring back Lemonade bottles in the 1970 to get the deposit .So progress is going back to where we were forgetting that it was cheaper to make a new bottle than all the work that went into collecting used ones separating cleaning them then bringing them to the Companies that actually want them .MORE FUCKING HIPPY NONSENCE .

I wonder If one hour on a simulator is equal to a one hour driving lesson or will you still need to do the full amount of on road lessons .

The Good old Days .I got my first Provisional when I was 17 to impress the girls I hadnt got a car .Me hen taught me how to drive when I was 26   I got my second Provisional licence two months before I done my test .The Law use to state that you were ENTITLED to hold a licence not that you held a Valid Licence .So no need to waste coin on renewing your licence every year when you had 10 days to produce one to the Gards so if they stopped you and asked you to produce you went into the building beside the Courts and got one over the counter same day .I think the Law now is if your licence lapses for two years or more you need to retake the test .

I couldn't imagine being a driving instructor.  Imagine being stuck in a car day after day, hour after hour, with snivelling teenagers who'd start every sentence with 'Loike'.

Damn technology.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

He is driving on the motorway when his Mum calls him and say:"Mehole be careful, I heard on the radio that an idiot is driving on the wrong side of the road!", and he replies:" are you sure it's just one idiot, because it looks like everyone is"
