NTA Taxi gargle rules.
« on: December 29, 2022, 08:15:00 am »
Furthermore, where a driver is disqualified from driving for any of the following Road Traffic Act
offences (or their international equivalents), the driver will be disqualified from driving an SPSV
for the period of the standard driving disqualification plus a further three to five years:
 Careless driving;
 Dangerous driving;
 Driving under the influence of an intoxicant;
 Being in charge of a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant;
 Failing to provide a specimen.
You are required to notify An Garda Síochána immediately of any relevant conviction.
If you have received a mandatory disqualification, you can apply to the appropriate or relevant
court to be allowed to apply for an SPSV driver licence or to have the revocation of an existing
licence lifted. You are required to notify both An Garda Síochána and the National Transport
Authority if you wish to appeal a mandatory disqualification. If you believe you may be affected
by this, it is strongly advised that you consult the legislation and seek legal advice.

The whole thing is a farce, Ken. Apply to the courts to get disqualifications overturned - can't feed family without licence, dealing drugs too risky without exemption from mandatory sentences, etc.

The Gardai ask for driving records these days yet do nothing with them. Blokes with penalty points walking out with licences to endanger the public, I kid you not! Free Now should introduce a competent driver (penalty point free) option.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.
