What would the effect of bypassing the suspected faulty component be?
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

,,^^^^Octy I'd still take it up with the dealer. You were one of a few people who bought them new back in 2018.In the US it's covered under some emmisions warranty they have there I believe. It appears to be a known issue and your vehicle was built in the same factory. The Toyota dealer should push to head office to cover it as a goodwill gesture.Toyota are fairly defensive about their reputation.

This is the letter I got from Toyota head office regarding the inverter, perhaps the same rules apply to other components:

Good afternoon, Herr Bullet,

May we also thank you for your support of Toyota and for taking the time to contact us directly.

Please be advised we are only in a position to determine outstanding recall campaigns for vehicles distributed directly for the European market. We note from our correspondence, your vehicle was originally distributed for a market outside of Europe.

Therefore, in order to determine whether or not your vehicle is included in any outstanding campaigns, we would ask that you make contact with your nearest Toyota Main Dealer/Authorised Repairer who will complete a Private Export Campaign Information form based on your vehicle details.

The Dealership will then submit this form to our Campaign team who will liaise with Toyota in the originating country in respect of your vehicle.

Our campaign team will then revert to your Toyota dealer to advise.

Please follow the link to find the Toyota Dealer nearest to you.

Thank you for contacting Toyota Ireland.

If it works out you could establish a little sideline.

Might be worth trying a bit of water mains hose for size. The external diameter is somewhat bigger at 21mm (fits IR 3/4" connections) but they are quite thick walled and, although rubber, would be stronger in terms of water pressure than copper.

Copper be alrite ide say  ...I used aluminium ...but a u shaped  auto hose 16 mm internal diameter be good at the other end
