Sincere September 2015, trans people in Ireland can apply to have their preferred gender legally recognised by the State. This is set out in the Gender Recognition Act 2015.

Eh ! Like getting the photo approved, as in a fella has a beard one day and a pair of tits the next !

A passport lasts for 10 years and I'm sure immigration officials are well used to people not matching exactly their passport photo.  In any event, a person's State-issued 'gender recognition cert' would clarify matters.

A Boola dont sat dat .You found out you can get pre approval for your snap and track your passport progress .Unlike the Sunday World shite Family miss Summer Hols as they wait seventeen weeks for a passport .

Not guaranteed by any means. All they use to "validate" the photos is thevalidator on the upload page of the passport renewal site. It can still fail at a later stage, as one of my professional ones did.
