I set up my new square reader on sunday. did a test payment,1 euro, 98 cent was was lodged into my account today. looking good, sum up has completely stopped working on me now so wont be using it anymore. it was easier to set up that sum up was, just had to take a picture of my drivers licence and a selfie, no sending in pictures of my spsv licence like with sum up.

I've been using Square for a few months now & it's very reliable.  Sumup was quite erratic but I've kept it in the glove box just in case.

If the device is acting up, In the sum up app you can get a QR code or create a payment link which the customer can pay you. Its very quick like revolut.

There's no screen on the reader.  You type in the number on your phone and the passenger has to trust you  O:-)  My phone is in a cradle on the window so I guess they could look over my shoulder as I'm typing in the number?

Only 1 person in about 4 months has made any comment at all about the lack of screen but then, I've an honest face  :P

I will probably never use sum up again, it let me down a few times so they wont get another chance.

Jasus some drivers never stop banging on about sum up. And all because it saves them 4 pence a year or something.  I use cabapp.  Never had a problem.
