Getting Hot down South !

Mercury hitting the 25 down here today.
I eventually had to pull out my Chillmax AIR and it's doing a fine job.

Fer a Nifty it's Good, it's small about 7 inches square all round but it does blow cool (not dry) air as opposed to an oscillating fan which only blows warm air at you. Now it ain't gonna be cooling any room big or small, but if'n your sat watching telly or at a computer screen then if you put it about a meter away from you then it is quite comforting.

As fer set-up, it was probably the easiest electrical device that I ever set-up,
Plug it in, wet the filter, pour in cold water and turn on, that's it !

As fer the noise level, it is only a fraction (20%) of the noise level that an oscillating fan makes.

Temperatures reached 28.8C yesterday, highest this year

Yesterday was the warmest day of the year so far with temperatures reaching 28.8C in Co Carlow.  Met Éireann said it is the highest temperature recorded this early in June since 28.9C was recorded in 1950 in Co Westmeath.  The forecaster also said it is also the first time in Ireland's climate record that three consecutive years have achieved temperatures of these values.

Kinda off topic ....ther was 8 pairs of swifts nestin in a derelict house opposite me ma,s gaff ....as yu know...ahem ... ther numbers are down 50% .....anyway these birds hav bean nesting in this gaff ( the gaff beside the John an Mary cople who are always roaring an threatenin to kill each other for years an next door to the 7 ft tall nigerian whos always out the back shoutin down his phone  all day put bets on horses ...anyway ...contrary to the experts that say they live 5 yers ....they don't...the live for 15 to 20 yers ...a little birdie told me  .....anyway wat does the corpo do at the height of summer an rite wen these nest are full of chick's....they fix the fukin roof ....I've had to watch every evening to poor tings tryin to enter the roof an the screams out of them ...its torture ....several emails to the nature conservation government.ie , corpo , unanswered phone calls from swift preservation ....fuking nothing ....
