Fair play to the Council for levelling the playing field.  Now the local scumbags will be able to rob the commuting Dubs as well as the tourists who stray from the Storehouse  ::clap

Who would cycle up along the Dead Canal from Rialto to Suir Road .You wouldnt walk it with an Armalite .Obvious the City planners dont know the local lads in the area .1500 electric bike or Scooter along that path will be ambushed .

€1,500 bikes are only for the poor people.  I drove a young fella to pick up his €4,500 electric bicycle the other day.  He wasn't the working type.  We spoke a bit and he admitted they were illegal but the Guards couldn't touch him because he was under-18 (a kid) and they couldn't take the bike off him!

Kelly's Barrister:

Judge - Scorn not his simplicity
But rather try to love him all the more.

Only he knows how to face the future hopefully
Surrounded by despair
He won't ask for your pity or your sympathy
But surely you should care

So, Judge, please be lenient with my client, as he is of low intelligence, but a promising footballer manager.

In his defence -he hasn't touched any drugs since being brought into custody...yesterday.

He is using his time on remand to learn traditional songs of Dublin:
A hungry feeling
Came o'er me stealing
And the mice were squealing
In my prison cell
And that auld triangle went jingle-jangle
All along the banks of the Royal Canal
To begin the morning
The screw was bawling
"Get up ya loser and clean up your cell!"
And that auld triangle went jingle-jangle
All along the banks of the Royal Canal
Now the screw was peeping
As the lag lay sleeping
Dreaming about his girl Sal
And that auld triangle went jingle-jangle
All along the banks of the Royal Canal
Oh! the wind was rising
And the day declining
As a lady, I'm praying
In my prison cell
And that auld triangle went jingle-jangle
All along the banks of the Royal Canal
In the female prison
There are 75 women
And among them now, I wish I did dwell
Then that auld triangle could go jingle-jangle
All along the banks of the Royal Canal

Have to say that I don't like this "rewilding" policy, or "let's save money" policy. My area looks like a third world country with weeds growing everywhere, through the footpaths, around the lamposts, up the pedestrian crossing barriers, looks awful.

Shocking video shows man being struck by golf club in Dublin city centre

Quote
Gardaí are investigating a public order incident involving a number of youths which took place on Market Street South in Dublin 8 this evening.

I think the taxi drivers on the official rank were probably too far away to have been affected, thank God.  But from the blurred video, it looks like a horse could have been traumatised from the violence.  And possibly tourists outside the Guinness Storehouse as well.  Shocking stuff.  And the council wants to introduce cyclists into the mix.  It's madness!

Watty the thing around there is complicated .There is a Power gap with a lot of the Older Crowd dead or in Prison .Some of the Old guard are returning to the area and trying to take over from a new younger crew ..I no longer accept work on app in certain parts of Dublin and with the Lanes and Roads now due to be restricted .I steer clear of work between Rialto Bridge and Dolphins Barn and from the canal to the River .
