20K to buy a E taxi .Why ?I was out last night drinking Red Wine no porter cos I am on a diet .Talking to a Girl who will be a Candidate for the Cabbages in the next Local elections and she was saying there is a reason we are getting the Largess of the Government by way of Grants .If the Greens Control the Next Council they intend to bring in a Clean Air Zone for Dublin City this will be between the canals and from Kilmainham to the sea .They will impose a DAILY charge on Vehicles entering the Zone .but only dirty Diesels or older petrol cars .They will introduce a payment on ALL Public Transport Vehicles Including Dublin Bus and Taxis .She says that Grants are made available to Bus companies and TAXI drivers to change their vehicles .I asked for a time frame she said .If they get back into power on DCC they would expect to pass the Legislation in the next term with a possible date for introduction in about 2027.she said they are looking at the Bradford model .Watch out for a lot of new reports on Airquality .There are a few PHD students in Trinity writing papers on the effect of Diesel Particulates and Autism .I asked about WATs and her answer was they make them in EVs dont they .I asked her about the Greens ageist policies of blocking roads and introducing bike Lanes that older people cannot cycle due to their age .Her reply was and I kid you not ."So what Older People dont vote Green "Might be worth noting the possible introduction of a Smog free Zone and a charge before we splash out on your next 9 year investment .
