Don't FG want to abolish the public pension altogether and have workers auto-enrol in a private scheme?  The Govt might throw in some matching funds to get it going but you can be sure they'll stop that once people get used to it.

Retirement age is 68 now, I think, and it'll be 70 or more by the time I retire (if I can).  So 74 could be a stepping stone on the road to no public pension?
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.

its 66 for me Watty I just got in under the age limit before they increased it .BUT they are going to offer me an opportunity to delay taking it @66 for a few years and they will pay me more later .Probably trying to put me over the Limit for a Medical Card .That list is From SDCC .They plan to build a new CITY between Red Cow and Kylemore 31 storey high tenements .Part of the planning requires removing busses between Black Horse and Bluebell as stopped busses cause traffic congestion .The Age thing caught my eye 74 is considered WORKING AGE ?

Thats the site between Fonthill and the old Newcastle Road .Lucan Sarsfields GAA Club will be in the MIDDLE of a housing estate that will stretch from Clondalkin to Celbridge ..The Nass Road was rezoned the day before Labour handed over the Lord Mayors office about 14 years ago .Thats why the Red Cow Luas stop has an underground walkway .Peno Harris owns most of that Land he bought the old Coke Bottling plant years ago for 12 Million .
