I wouldn't mind but the biggest "troll" around here is Ken. He's got an opinion on pretty much everything even if he has no idea what the current topic at hand is about which sadly is most of the time. He will fight tooth and nail on nearly every topic and when he's wrong which again sadly is most of the time, he sulks off for a while calling everyone nasty names. To be honest I think the man has problems and is best given a very wide berth. That's my take on the situation.

92 .A few questions .Are you presently working ?If you become self employed you lose a lot of benifits .Are you in a Council house where your rent is assessed on income ?Are your children healthy and you do not need a Medical card ? and more immediate have you taken the taxi drivers test and passed it ?

Ok here are the sums
Rent a Car or Van  with insurance 250-300 a week
Fuel you will need to do at least 60 hours to cover costs another 150on fuel  if its is not rationed due to foreign issues .
So lets say you are a decent driver who can find your way out and BACK from jobs .Monday to Thursdays working Nights in Dublin you might average 15 euro an hour if you are Lucky . So that covers your outlay for the week .Now you have Friday /Saturday and Sunday .To try make a wage .lets say 3x10 hour shifts @20 euro takings an hour that is 600 to add to the 450 in costs you already paid out .So tou have a good week your takings are 1050 less than an Electrician doing 37 hour week just for comparison .It sounds a lot but dont forget 450 of that is costs .Now you have 600 in your hand for six days work we assume you take one day off .Now when it comes to Tax on takinhs minus costs and Paye and Prsi and Social charge you might see 500 a week for a 70 hour working week .The sweet spot only comes for drivers who own their own cars for the two or three years when they have no car payments and they can add that 400 a month to their weekly wages .If this was such a good job more drivers would have University Degrees and consider it a career .In fact you do not see it as a career but more of a side hustle to fit in with your Domestic Bliss .

That is the reality of this job and I left out the Comission you will have to pay Free Now or UBER for your work if you could get 1000 a week in earnings with fuck all knowledge of where to find work without sitting on ranks or using an App you could expect to pay at least another 100 out of your meger wage So the reality of working 70 hours a week to gain about 450 minus your surrendered dole payments means you might be better off by about 4 Euro an Hour .

I gave you a piece of Serious advice when I said make Garden ornaments or Furniture go into some sort of craft where you can work from home and get cash in hand .If you have two young kids and you expect your Hen to go to work and the minute she gets in you then hand them over so you can go to work that wont last and you will spend days in Dolphin House fighting over custody and Maintainance .THATS THE TRUTH the REALITY this job is anty social suits cantankerous old cunts or lads that have mentally retired from lifes struggles .

I'll push the boat so far out Ken that you'll go flying down through the rapids eventually to fly over the edge of the niagra falls sized waterfall and go crashing into the rocks below in your little boat.

Rent .....do not invest . Have a go and walk away if it doesn't work out ....DONT take out loans now  when the world is facing so much  uncertainty on so many levels .
The most important question is ....
Does your partner love an support ya  enough to permit you to fail and start all over again from nothing ?

Was planning on renting to start with for the reasons you said

Me and the missus are good. Been together since school and been through slot since then. She went through all my crap when I ended up inside so should be alright whatever happens

Yur a lucky man Dub....Best of luck ....have a go and rent for a while and see how it goes .....you'll also learn alot in even 6 months to help with decisions on investment if yur buying yur own ....it won't be cheap as yu are aware

If you have a "job" at the moment.-Holiday money, sick pay, redundancy money, etc are a great umbrella that you will be surrendering.

You are never more on your own when the shit hits the fan than when doing this job.

Youse should all kiss and make up.  Sometimes it feels like...

Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.
