Sum up Refund??
« on: December 02, 2023, 10:39:22 am »
I checked my Sum Up payments last night and I had recorded a 800 euro payment .I know this was not right so I went through my taxi meter reciepts and found one for that exact time for 18.00 Euro .So obviously something went wrong .I could of input the incorrect fare but I thought there was a limit on tap over 50 euro and the custoner had to put in their Pin Code or does this not apply if you use your Phone to Pay .I immediatly refunded the Payment before it went into my account but the Refund lozeng in the app was pre filled in for the Full 800 and it would not allow me alter it to 782 Euro so now I am Down the Fare but the Customer has their Funds .

So two questions .Do customers have to input their PIN for sums over 50 Euro .

Could this be a scam where the customer is paying more then demanding a cash back from the bank or the trader .

I was able to correct this before any funds went into my account .Any Thoughts (800 seems a lot to allow with a tap )

Just had a Phone call from the Customer .Nice bloke drives for a Polish Supermarket .Was delighted to tell him I had already Refunded him .He will revolute me the fare .He contacted Free Now as it was one of their Jobs .

It is recorded as a refund but in fact is a cancellation of the transaction by me .Customer cannot cancel it only the trader/reciever .

Nice to know your own morals when challenged stay strong .I dont have a spare Score but still would not take another mans Coin that was not due to me .

A few months ago a girl left a set of house keys in the car.So I tried to contact her...no joy because they removed that option.Rang the Freenow office and the number kept ringing out.I knew I was off the following day so turned up at the office and the three kids working there were doing fuk all just browsing the web trying to avoid work.

You'd be far better off just saying you found nothing and drop it in the cop shop on a day when it suits.Ya get fuk all thanks off anyone.

Another time I accidently overcharged someones account at the airport and I knocked into Mount street to rectify it and Bill more or less told me to get lost as it was lunch hour. What a bunch of useless cunts they are that aren't really interested in helping us when we actually need them.

It's only the logistics/hassle of returning the Sumup card reader that's stopping me from choosing another provider to replace Cabapp. I registered with Sumup years ago but i never bothered to get it activated. Now they say that I can take payments, (only 1 sucessfully so far, as the app crashed on the second attempt), but there may be delays until my account is verified, and payments will be made to me then. It still, after 4 days, won't let me input my address change or bank details, even though I sent a copy of both by email, and they know them, as part of their security check is to ask you for the last 4 digits of your bank ac number.
Trump has called for help, so I'm on a plane heading for The Strait of Hormuz, talk soon.
