Tax free for night work?

I Think the Government should offer us tax free earnings on night work to increase the number of taxis working during the times it is hard to get taxis.

I haven't worked a night in a few months as they way I see it, the more I work the more I end up giving away in tax and I already pay enough tax.

Would this increase the numbers of taxis working at night?

I'm sick of working hard so some useless waster who never worked a day in his life can use my tax to buy drugs, cans, 70 inch TV etc

In every other job the night shift is usually the one nobody wants unless it's actually easier.

If you trebled the night tarrif I'd still be working days.I like days as I worked in night jobs when I was younger.My advice is stop listening to Newstalk and other anti taxi media outlets and wait until January when things return to normal.

All the lads who left the industry that are doing other jobs because they are easier or better paid than taxi driving will be back as soon as they get fukked on the scrapheap during the next downturn.The perceived taxi shortage will fix itself.

Yes, definitely a different Christmas this year so far. Even though I have changed my hours in the lst year, and don't start until 21.30, thereby missing the "going out" crowd. Normally from the 15th onwards week  nights would be busy with the jobs like once per year visits from say, people in Howth visiting people in Killiney etc. Suburban pubs in particular seem quieter, with ones that cater to a younger crowd doing better than others. Mc Cormacks in Mountown closed at 23.00 last night much to the disappointment of a local sports group there.

How would you prove you earned 100% of your money at night time?

Well you say I earned whatever on Saturday night from 10 pm to 4 am and if Revenue want to check it out, that is up to them, check the meter or whatever.

Traditionally we don't pay a lot of income tax as a whole... they can't give back what they don't get.
