Entering by the back door
« on: February 15, 2024, 05:31:30 pm »
I was having a conversation with a driver who uses a well known Federal Republic of Europe "mobility" app. He complained that jobs were disappearing in milli-seconds and there was a distinct lack of airport runs.
Brought my mind back to the days where some of our more industrious brethren used remote click apps to game the system and hoover up the work. The transition year work experience crew in Mount street were outclassed and the Bosses in the Federal Republic of Europe too busy cycling to work on their electric scooters to care.

The attached link got me thinking.

Why go small when you can go big? Have a mate back in Easternistan handy with his fingers? Cajole him/her/they/them to jimmy open a door in the system, sneak in and divy out the work. A lot of software contains code lifted/copied from existing programs (why bother creating thousands of lines of code for say a date/time calendar when you can just copy it). This can have entry doors baked in for various reasons.
Do a goldilocks. Not too much, Not too little, share out just enough. Would work in each Federal market and prove a simple little earner. 6 airport trips from 6am and back home in time for an early lunch. Given the frequent glitches in the systems its obvious the original expensive tech teams have been replaced by yellow packs where possible (potentially in Easternistan). So less chance of the open door being discovered.

Ah jaysus maybe Im getting suspicious in my old age. Its not like the Federal Republic does not have our best interests at heart. Perhaps I should just have a mug of camomile and go back to bed.

I used to be Gold full priority ambassador and never saw an airport job in the prebookings worth more than about €30.
Now,all I see is swords and Malahide Rd to the airport.
I don't know how they were doling out the gravy, but as the supposed to tier,I didn't see it.

The apps are rigged towards the hungry fuks. The more you want they more they'll give.If you're being fussy you get offered less.Just like a human base controller.

I regularly used to see the ambassador gimps pulling up to pick up hospitality jobs that I wouldn't touch but they'll probably get a lot more work off the app thoughout their shift.

Most of us are competing against our own Irish hungry bastards and a load of immigrants from third world countries who think not taking everything available at whatever cost is stupid. They think 15% commision is absolutely fair and that's why they get fed.You don't need to hack the apps, just accept any shite that you're given and you'll earn more.

There's always a lot of suspicion around hacking and autoclicker apps when it goes quiet but now there are likely three drivers competing for the same work where there used to be one.More pain to come IMO as the geography test is now too easy to pass.Freenow have spent all our money on helping out new lads get through the PSV exam so we can only blame ourselves if there's not enough work.

I would be the same Van D, I was Gold Ambassador and on Priority fer the vast majority of the Covid years and only once ever did I see a job worth over a Nifty on the pre book screen, the vast majority of pre book jobs on my screen are between a Tenner and a Score. I THINK the Limo's get first dibs.
At 15% the Limo's can have them, I prefer the many short hops around the burbs with the PUC which covers the commission..

That clicker app on android phones was deeply flawed and to my knowledge most if not all drivers have abandoned it.
The main problem with the clicker app was that it takes every job, then it also clicks on arrived and also clicks on passenger on board, even when you are still miles away from the customer. The clicker thing sounded great in theory but in practise it was terrible.

A hotel job came up yesterday with fare estimate of 7-8 Euro,so let's say it was 7.60

So - 2 Euro to hotel = 5.60
     -15% to FN  .84 =  4.76
     - CC fee .15?      =  4.61  :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o   Like WTAF is that all about??

Do you have to give €2.00 to the hotel on top of the €2.00 hospitality fee + 15% of the total fare that you have to give Free Now, MMW?

Word on the street suggests Free Now are going to abolish the hospitality fee and introduce a driver technology fee of €1.00 per job in the near future, possibly in conjunction with the expected 20% increase to the commission portion of freight.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

The 2 Euro to the hotel is the hospitality fee RC,I swear I would die of hunger before doing one.

We'll, we don't know that Free Now gives it to the hotel/pub/car hire firm... We give it to Free Now and what they do with their money is their own business.

When I say we, it's a very general we. I don't mean you or I, MMW. I opted out of hospitality jobs but I still get offered the odd one, presumably the hospitality fee doesn't apply to me but I don't know that 'cos I still won't do them.
