Still don't understand why this is happening. Garda deserves a medal for making our lives safer.

Is this the case where the copper drove the wrong way down the carriage way? They're not allowed to do whatever they feel like just because the scum does something stupid.Besides how could they possibly stop a speeding car with another car without ramming them at high speed causing more danger to others. For a burglary it seems excessive.

I don't think they get training like the US coppers to stop moving vehicles.Copper will get a warning or sacked. No big loss IMO.

I totally agree with Watty, the Guard should be honoured fer his duty to protect the public from knacker scum, BUT this case is 'Enoch Burke' style and has little to do with what happened but what the Guard did wrong by driving the wrong way on a motorway and a roundabout ....... and completly missing the point that he was persuing known thieves after commiting a robbery.

Much as I hate to say it but the Guard might actually get done fer this, and the knacker scum of this country will see it as a victory and go on to commit even more crimes against the innocent decent folk of this land.

I'll be putting pen to paper in a letter to Garda John Francis Ryan to support him.

The Garda will get off regardless of how reckless his actions may have been. What he (and others) must consider going forward is that the head on collision could have been with a Toyota Prius carrying a family of 5 white Irish nationals.  It's all great fun 'till innocent lives are lost.

I don't think he went up on the motorway but reading it again, it sounds like maybe the red mist got the better of him  >:D

Quote
The dangerous driving charges relate to an alleged incident on Brookfield Road at the N82 Citywest roundabout and Cheeverstown Road.  The officer is also charged with endangerment, having allegedly driven westwards on the eastwards auxiliary lane of the road between Rathcoole and Citywest in a reckless manner which posed substantial risk of death or serious injury to a member of the public.

Might be suspended on full pay for a while.

Any news on the off duty Garda who committed the hit and run murder in Loud recently?

disgraceful the guards don't have a high tech drone built in to their cars. you press a button and it deploys from the roof and can persue a car high up with auto follow and night vision etc. DJI make them.
