DPP directs no prosecution of garda who shot George Nkencho

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has directed no prosecution following an investigation into the fatal shooting of a man by a garda in Dublin three and a half years ago

George Nkencho, 27, was shot dead by an armed garda outside the family home in Clonee, Co Dublin in December 2020.

The Garda Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) said today it had been notified by the DPP of its decision not to direct a prosecution in the case.

It also said it had notified the gardaí involved and the family of their entitlement to a summary of reasons from the DPP of its decision not to prosecute as well as a review of the decision.

In a statement, An Garda Síochána said it noted the decision of the DPP.

It added: "Commissioner (Drew) Harris re-iterates today his and the organisation's sympathy with the family of George Nkencho.

"An Garda Síochána will await further information from GSOC on its next steps before commenting further."

Worst case of "victim blaming" in the history of the state if not the entire world .To cover up the fact that the building was unsafe and a tinderbox...the fire exits  were chained up and the government bodies failed to prevent all that happening.
The state authorities caused this horrific tragedy and it took them 43 years to admit it .
its almost certain that parents and siblings lives were shortened by heartache ....

I will predict something here using me Crystal Ball type thing ..A Garda will be shot dead in Ireland very soon .What the DPP are saying is the Garda CAN SHOOT TO KILL .Now your criminal class carrying a gun is fair game now it could become kill or be killed. A Garda who drives fast gets charged but two who shoot and my opinion having seen the video MURDERED this man walk away .If you want to know why the Garda have no respect for the Garda Comissioner and why the Public have no trust in the Garda this is why .

The non written Contract between Garda and Criminals we dont you dont shoot is now gone .I would not be Surprised if Young Thug tries to take out a Garda now just to win his stripes .

This has to be the worst decision ever made by the DPP when you contrast it with the other Garda who is charged with some driving offence .

This also stinks of Institutional Racism ,If it was a White man slaughtered on his mothers doorstep I wonder if this would be the result .Will their be an Enquiry like Abbeylara where gards shot dead a mentally ill man ?
