I saw flashing lights in one of the larger structures with a placard outside stating:
NOW IS THE WINTER OF OUR DISCO TENTS

Then they get to the border an do they tell the cnuts to walk over the border?  Cause they can't legally drive into a " foreign jurisdiction " wit them unless they prove they came from northen ireland in the first place .......an seen as the illegals don't have passports and won't admit they came from UK .....it wud appear to me that this is all a show from the minister of injustice for the propaganda Mouthpiece that is rte ......

17,000 got into Ireland illegally, then they're naturalised.

A failure of the state.

Written answers
Helen McEntee
Minister for Justice
The granting of Irish citizenship through naturalisation is governed by the provisions of the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Act 1956, as amended. All applications for a certificate of naturalisation are processed and assessed individually in accordance with the provisions of the Act.

Applicants are required to have 5 years reckonable residence in the State prior to making an application, except for spouses of Irish nationals and people granted International Protection where the requirement is 3 years. In all cases, the final 12 months must be continuous residence in the State.

It is open to anyone to make an application for citizenship once they meet the criteria as set out in the 1956 Act, as amended. Once an application is received, a determination on whether the applicant satisfies the statutory criteria for naturalisation will be made.

I can advise the Deputy, that in October 2023 my Department moved from paper based applications to online forms for all new adult applications and this should help in reducing the median processing time for applications.

Detailed information on how to apply for naturalisation is available on my Department's Irish Immigration website at: www.irishimmigration.ie/how-to-become-a-citizen/

The table below details the number of Certificates of Naturalisation issued for each of the years 2013 to date, as requested by the Deputy.  The number naturalised in any given year may includes persons approved for naturalisation in a previous year.  The Citizenship Division issues invitations to ceremonies to successful applicants at the earliest possible opportunity.

Over 17,000 applicants have received a decision in relation to their application for naturalisation to date in 2023.  So far this year there have been 9 Citizenship Ceremonies. These have taken place in the RDS, Dublin in March, in the INEC, Killarney in June and the Convention Centre in Dublin in October. A further 7 ceremonies will be held over two days in the Convention Centre Dublin next month and invitations to applicants will issue shortly.

17,000/year seems very low compared to the millions of paddies that went the other way and bred like rabbits to maximise welfare receipts. If what goes round comes round I guess current levels are the tip of the iceberg.

Significant increase in new plates and SPSV DLs issued in April. Is this just a coincidence bearing in mind that Free Now charges it's predominately first generation immigrant private hire drivers in the UK a minimum of 25% commission but offers them comprehensive training to get Irish licences and pay significantly lower commission coupled with a significantly lower cost of living for those currently based in London?

Not fascinated but knowing the city reasonably well I can see why Free Now offers it's drivers opportunities to work for the firm in Ireland. They wouldn't have the same standard of living as us given that their fares are typically less than 50% of what we charge and they're charged twice the rate of commission we pay.

There certainly seems to be some correlation between the number of migrants coming from the UK and the number of new SPSV licences being issued. Logic suggests Free Now running Irish PSV courses with incentives across the UK has some impact on the numbers. I guess if it wasn't working they wouldn't be doing it

I just came out of Taxifair and overheard several migrant(s) drivers cancelling their policies...they must have gotten their discs.

Jeez, they open late. I usually deal with them by phone/post.

Mad, they usually just stop the drip payments. If they paid up front they probably won't get their money back without returning the discs.

It doesn't make sense, anyway. The insurance companies grass you up to An Garda Siochana and NTA and your plate gets cancelled creating a whole lot of bother when the Gardai knock on your door/tent and/or when you're involved in a RTA.

While someone of your vintage can easily make the €360.00 a week asked by unscrupulous rentiers before turning a cent in profit, new entrants probably can't.

April was a very lean month.
