If he was a taxi driver he would lose his licence .Or if he was a soldier Mick from Cork would be calling for his head but he is a senator .WILL HE BE FUCKED OUT OF FG ?A High Court jury has awarded a man €39,000 against Fine Gael Senator John McGahon over a late night assault outside a pub.
Farmer Breen White, from Castleblaney, Co Monaghan, sued Mr McGahon for assault and battery outside the Rum House pub in Dundalk, Co Louth, on June 16, 2018.

Mr McGahon (33), who was elected to the Seanad subsequent to the incident, denied the claims and said he was assaulted and acted in self defence.
I think somebody might of been glassed if I remember this correctly ?

Be interesting to see how Politicians react .Today a Tourist died after being attacked The Soldier who attacked the Girl in Limerick is wanted for hanging .The Limerick Hurler who kicked fuck out of another lad is still playing for Limerick and this bloke is still a Senator .Seems to be justice for some and none for others .Garda shoot dead Blackmen get off get involved with travlers and go to court .It seems it all comes down to who have friends in high places .

I agree that money buys you 'justice' but this is a bit of a non-story.  Read it a few hours ago but can't see it now on the main sites.  Even the Indo aren't making a fuss about it & they love to do the 'high & mighty' on someone who's fallen.

The judge probably made the right decision.  A bit of a 'he said, she said' fight/scuffle outside the pub at 2am?  The Senator has to pay €38k.  Sending him to jail wouldn't have served any purpose.  Plenty of politicians have survived drink-driving charges over the years and that's probably more serious?

Watty he was CONVICTED of Affray .What is the message .The Dail was up in arms over the Soldier .A Porter in the Dail gets moved for posting Right Wing stuff .But one of the people who make the laws breaks the laws and No Politician is calling for him to resign .Mick from Cork is looking into soldiers with convictions but not Dail Members .If he had of been a better scrapper he might of killed the man .Imagine USA or Canadian tourists who see their tourists assaulted and Murdered by street violence reading this .ITS A FUCKING YELLO FRUIT REPUBLIC WE ARE LIVING IN .

Are you sure?  I can't see any stories about him getting done for affray.  Looks to me like the Senator was found innocent after a criminal trial.  The farmer then sued the Senator in a private lawsuit and won his case and the money.

So you saying an INNOCENT man had to pay compo .He might of avoided a Criminal Conviction but the Judge saw him for the thug he is .If you read thye case he accosted the mans wife .The Early school leaver accused a TD yesterday of wokery while te Taoiseach was speaking out about gender based violence this piece of shit accosted a woman and her husband came to her rescue and was assaulted by a Senator a law maker a Law Breaker .You cannot polish a shit .This is unacceptable conduct from a member of the Oireachtas and nobody spoke out not even the Queers or Feministas saw it as gender based violence .YELLOW FRUIT REPUBLIC .

Yeah, I did think after I posted €39k was a lot for a civil case.  From memory, I think the jury split the blame 65% Senator / 35% farmer?    It's an odd one.  Even since pubs and chippers have been invented, man have been fighting over women at 2am and it's usually all forgotten about the next day.  Or until the next GAA match

It's strange the way RTE news keep saying yer man is a taxi driver in the present tense like he's still on the road picking up customers.

When one of their own was up for child abuse charges recently they were quick to describe him as a former RTE producer.
