Thers an easy fix to cameras

Yes the easy solution is Let drivers fit them if they want then remove the restriction on Door stickers and let them advertise they have CCTV fitted .Give the Passenger a Choice .Think about a CCTV system that would work the Data would have to be uploaded so we would have to Pay for Wi Fi connection .Need at least another 3 notes on pick up to cover the costs .Do you think people will pay that ? Or will we ?My issue is My civil Liberty I would be monitored in what I say and do in my daily workplace while others would not .

What do you think Journalists would say or do if they had CCTV in their office and their conversations were monitored ?

Connect the Camera to the meter .The meter starts the camera starts .So any bogey going for drugs down the flats says leave the meter off mate .It simply would not work I would be offering off the meter fares to everybody and issuing waiver forms to stay legal if it was connected to meter .

Here is an example if we had Mandatory CCTV .Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward, particularly those who were in the Drumcairn Estate area of Tallaght, Dublin 24, between 3am and 4am on the morning of Friday 26th July 2024. Additionally, individuals with video recordings, including motorists with dash cams, from the area within the timeframe are asked to provide footage to investigating Gardaí.You would then be called as a withness to verify that your camera took this film possibly making you a target for revenge SAY NO TO MANDATORY CCTV in Taxis .

Minister for Justice now says she is looking at Mandatory CCTV in taxis .Whoever has the contract from the last time must be happy .

Its a Huge issue do you want to be spied on in your place of work .Will these cameras have Facial recognition and if we have wanted criminals on board could we be involved with Gun hungry Garda the likes of those who murdered the black man in Blanchardstown trying to make arrests in your car .Then you add in the Hate Laws they are introducing .If you have a conversation with some nutter and you reply telling him what he wants to hear to keep yourself safe can you be charged with hate speech .

I picked up a lady yesterday from a maternity hospital asked her how long she had to go .Now was that out of order as I could be enquiring how long ago did she get fucked .Or the reason I did ask was in case she had any issue and I needed to get her back to hospital or inform an Ambulance man I would know and that information might help .

The lady you picked up at the hospital could merely have been a visitor, and you could be charged with fat-shaming.

Something similar is already happening in America. 
1.  Whenever there's a protest the police don't like, they contact all the mobile phone/email companies and ask for demand a list of phones that 'pinged' the local mobile phone masts.  So they might be looking for 1 person but they end up with a list of, say, 1,000 people.  Suddenly all those people are suspects and the police treat them like that.   There's even rumours the police set up their own fake mobile masts to capture people's phone details.

2. Same with the internet doorbells.  Anytime there's a crime, the police just go round and collect all the videos.  Again, they're usually looking for 1 guy but now they have the movements of everybody in the neighbourhood.  And if you refuse, word goes around that 'Bob in #22' didn't help the police so he must be dodgy and everyone is now giving you the stinkeye!

It's gone from a situation where you're innocent until proven guilty to one where the police treat you as a suspect until you prove you're innocent.

I think the whole thing is being blown out of proportion.  There was something like 17 sexual assaults in the last year (or was it 5 years).  Out of how many million taxi journeys?  Instead of getting 26,000 innocent taxi drivers to spend €1,000 on CCTV, why not beef up vetting or make it an annual thing?  Or re-vet when we renew our 5 year licence?

Has CCTV on buses stopped assaults or drug taking?  Or reduced them significantly?

And considering that 90% of card machines seem to break down each night once the sun sets, I suspect any CCTV will suffer a similar fate?  If you're determined to rape someone, you'll probably plan it and work out how to dodge the CCTV or disable it.

You'll have to behave yourself now!  No more eating KFC down dark laneways, or picking your nose, or agreeing with crazy passengers about 'dem bloody foreigners'.  Your behaviour is all on tape now!
