Didn't get the shits anyway but bar a few snacks here and there our meals were included. Breakfasts were all pretty varied buffets typical of any 4/5 star hotel in any developed country. I'd say most of the restaurants we were brought to were western focused. If they gave westerners the shits they'd lose the big tour companies, I guess. I did buy some barely cooked chicken in a bar though that I couldn't risk eating!
Bought some of their "Firewater" but it was the brand recommended by our guide, not sure how I'd know if it's fake... once it hits the spot!
However, one would question what happens to all the genuine smokes and gargle they produce if the big supermarkets and duty free shops at airports are sourcing fake stuff?
We were told to avoid buying smokes and gargle in the markets and warned that the clothes in markets would be poor quality fakes... then they brought us to an outlet type place where they suggested we could buy better quality designer label knock off clothing! All I bought myself was 3 pairs of "Calvin Klein" jocks for about €6 that are allegedly made of bamboo or some such as I was almost out of clean ones. Probably coulda got 'em for less ifn I took more interest in the negotiating game!
