Looks like arson is taking off and getting results!  The chair of the charity even apologised after the building was gutted.

Homeless charity to leave area after arson attack and graffiti threat

Quote
The chair of a homeless centre in Belfast that was targeted in a sinister arson attack has remarkably apologised to the community and agreed to quit the area.  In an exclusive interview with the Sunday World, Jude Whyte, Chairman of the Welcome Organisation, issued a full apology for “not being in tune” with the “hurt and pain” the drop-in centre on Townsend Street had caused local residents.  A car was rammed into the front shutters of the charity building last week and the vehicle was then set on fire, causing substantial damage to the building.  Graffiti was later daubed on a nearby wall, threatening to shoot workmen who carried out repairs for the charity and a local political representative blamed the INLA for the attack and threats.

With the two largest terrorist organisations in Europe working in unison it's probably better to err on the side of caution.

Bit of a failure on the part of both Govts that they gave into arson attacks.  The various 'bad guys' now know how to influence Govt policy without the hassle of standing for election!

Petrol bomb thrown at Co Down mosque as police investigate overnight attacks (just last night)

An empty hotel in Waterford a few days ago and now... Fire services tackling blaze at vacant building in south Dublin

Quote
Emergency services are attending a major fire at a vacant building in Ballyboden, Co Dublin.  Five engines including a turntable ladder are tackling the blaze at the former convent on Edmondstown Road, Dublin 16.  Gardaí said they were alerted to the fire at around 8.20pm.

Arson attack on Co Antrim Indian and Nepalese restaurant being treated as racist hate crime

Jeez, was there always this much arson or is it a new phenomenon with the rise of the racists and right-whingers?

In Ireland, it's often the occasion that "Vandals" set fire to a property they bought. this allows them to bulldoze the old place and start with a clean sheet.
