Done a FN job the other day.
Was putting yer man’s cases in the boot and another FN taxi rocks up.
Same job, so the app must be giving trouble

Will you stay with Uber now that it looks like you'll have to pay a bit extra tax on their fares?

I'm chronically lazy so never got past signing up for FN and I only signed with them because a FN rep stuck his head in my window when I was ranked up one day.

Uber will get even busier when the students on J1 visas return from the U.S. and Canada.

Is it worth registering for VAT and all that entails?

What is Uber's current rate of commission in ROI, excluding VAT?
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

12% for now.I get some tips on Uber but Freenow killed off the few tips with the tech fees.

If you are using Uber be careful of you use the cash option as I did my first drug run to Oliver bond flats on Uber this week.Got paid no probs but not the type of work I usually cover or expect on Uber.

I find buyers or sellers of supposedly illegal narcotics account for a large proportion of the work I do for Free Now. In the Northside suburbs there's a definite blind eye policy with little or no attention paid by An Garda Siochana. I think that regime will be replicated nationwide on foot of the Citizens' Assembly's recommendation to "minimise, or potentially completely remove, the possibility of criminal conviction and prison sentences for simple possession" ( https://citizensassembly.ie/citizens-assembly-on-drugs-use-publishes-summary-36-recommendations/ ) in due course if that hasn't already been done? In any event, I don't find those engaged in buying or selling to be particularly problematic. They usually have plenty of tax free hard earned so aren't bothered about paying a taxi fare. I guess a lot of them probably understand that you wouldn't be likely to pick them up on the street so they don't want to dirty their bibs, so to speak, with the dispatch firms that welcome their patronage.

12% + VAT = 14.76%... pretty much the same as Free Now's current rate of commission in ROI.

I don't know what these lads were on but I think they might have been getting the hard stuff from the flats. Two Turkish/Romanian lads and one fairly sweaty.I don't really care what people take but the hard stuff brings us to strange places.

Typically Uber is all clean work but the recent addition of a cash option might start to attract the wrong customers.Uber has said by email that they will guarantee all payments but still I don't want the addicts if I can avoid them.

Finglas is using the cash option.
