Im down the Flats eating Christmas Cake and drinking Duty Free Vodka with Big Dommo and Billy the Bastard .Im telling him about the cartel that charges the same price to update your meter no matter what meter it is it costs the same ..He said sure the fare is the same on every meter does that mean taxi drivers operate a cartel as well .

ATA with Quality Motors: €150. There's a pattern emerging.

Somebody didn't get the memo  >:(  ATA mirror meter with Oscars: €150+VAT = €170.25  :'(

And the metrology website gave me a booking for the tail end of Jan!  I wonder could you sign on for the next 2 months because metrology says it's illegal for me to work my taxi without the plastic seal?  lol

Panicked when I saw that as going away with car on Jan 3oth. Just rang them now, and got an appt for Jan 10 without having received any emails or TTI forms from them, but now have an email confirming appt.
Trump has called for help, so I'm on a plane heading for The Strait of Hormuz, talk soon.

I did advise this to all last October !

From the NTA website;

"Once you have your taximeter installed and calibrated with the new 2024 fare program and you have received your TTI form by email from the installer, you can make a verification booking with the authorised verifier, Applus by logging onto the Legal Metrology website https://taximeterverification.nsai.ie, or alternatively please contact the taximeter verification booking line on: 01 143 5951."

https://www.nationaltransport.ie/news/taximeter-program-update-national-maximum-fare-order/

That is Not true, you can make a verification/reseal booking any time within 60 days before fer a test.
The waiting list fer reseal appointments will be long after the meters are reprogrammed in November but you can book your reseal appointment today fer a date in December, Meter Seal 01 4135951

I booked mine in last week on Oct 22nd fer a Dec 5th test, cost €90.41 and there were lots of dates and times to choose from.

Exactly. The NTA started the Taxi Regulator's office in July 2005. 19.5 years later, I've yet to go through one of their compliance checkpoints. Should I move over to days? 8)

A colleague said he has to buy a new meter, €650, that can't be right?

He's possibly going for a mirror meter, printer, and a roof sign.

I think the new Alberen mirror meter comes with it's own printer.
I paid €600 fer mine with printer last week, as my old Hale meter was almost out of date.
The €600 includes the €150 fer reprogramming.

A quick google says a meter is ~350 with another ~250 for the printer (total ~600).  Maybe he misunderstood the quote?

when I started in 2016, I paid just under 600 euro for the meter, printer, fitting of meter, door stickers fitted and roof sign.
