The environment or profit, the Free now strategy
« on: November 27, 2024, 11:36:12 pm »
If you take the BA ( Brand ambassador) Route and deface your car with stickers, you will earn 10.4 points per job towards your Bronze, Silver, and Gold status over other drivers.

If you drive a brand-new EV without the company stickers you get 10.1 points.

Advertising takes preference over the environment @ FREE NOW.

I've a newish EV and they still give me very little.Yesterday I had a whopper Tuesday on Uber and Freenow offered me two jobs all day.Have yous noticed the driver ratings have been frozen foronths now..IMO to stop 5 star drivers getting work off the ambassadors.

They still email me to be an ambassador.

It's 14 points per job fer Ambassadors and 11 points fer non-ambassador EV drivers, not 10.4 or 10.1.

3,000 points per month gets you FN Gold status fer the next month.

I'm just 25 FN jobs shy of that 3,000 November mark, but I should make it easily before month end at Midnight Sat night, might be very handy to be Gold/Ambassador fer the busy Chrimbo period.

"From 31 December 2024, if valid tax details are not supplied, Uber will put payments to your account on hold."
Seems like theft to me. Close my account but don't keep my money

Delete the app until we get clarification from  Uber. Surely they're not looking for details on our tax affairs?

You would have already given Freenow and Bolt your tax number.

I just ticked the box that said my turnover is less than 40k.I think it is but I don't really care as it's just an online from with no legal meaning as far as I'm concerned.Let them pay the VAT if it bothers them it's not my problem.

No, I'm sure that they just mean PPSN which I've already given them. "Withhold my money" doesn't sit well with me.

I'm not apologizing for Uber but remember we're just a spit in the bucket globally. The language they use in their communications might be tailored to other drivers (taxi and rideshare and limo scum and delivery drivers) who don't have English as thy're.... first language.I'd say they prefer to sound like they mean business.Just ignore the tone of it.

Whatever way you look at it, it's 75 jobs per week @ 15%. Uber gave me a bonus I didn't even enter for. Bolt is 13%, Uber 12%, C2K is 15% and no wrist-slapping for not covering work. Street work is commission-free.

Like you, I'll do the jobs that suit me, not FN/Uber/Bolt/C2K. Each has its merit at different times of the day, and it is up to the driver to choose what best suits him/her/they.
