The Green green grass of moan
« on: December 02, 2024, 08:55:51 am »
Greens gone farmers might hold the balance of power .Farmers drive diesel not EVs .It might be an idea if you are thinking of changing next year to an EV to apply for the grant Now .Its good for 3 months .It might not be there next year .If it is you can let this one lapse and apply again .

The people who didn't vote Green like myself were saying to them;
"Take your Fookin Cycle lanes and Fookin Bollards with you and Fook off !".  ::fds

If it's not there it's not there. Diesel has worked well for me for the last 30 years, it'll do for however many I have left if there's no EV grants when my current car comes up for replacement in 2026.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

I'll never ever go Diesel again, that Fookin DPF has been a nightmare fer me since August 2021.
The bill to date is at about 8K, ......... And the Fookin cab is currently in Lehanes Toyota fer some Fookin Turbo problem related to the Fookin DPF which will cost me another 1.45K tomorrow.

My post was for information .If you are changing next year it might be prudent to apply NOW .As we dont know if it will be there next year .Ken the Greens are about more than Bike lanes .I voted for the X Green Gogarty where I live .Ken Where I live on the outskirts of Dublin I cannot move early morning or evening .Thats a problem for everybody .Big Dommos Brother that works takes over 2 hours a day going and coming from work .

Not too bothered about my DPF, Ken. I can buy a new one from Autodoc for €350-550 depending on whether I opt for the single (DPF only) or dual (Cat & DPF) canister(s)... probably a couple of ton more from Micks Garage if needed in a hurry. For the kilometreage I do it'd be a once in a lifetime job. I wouldn't buy a Toyota diesel having read your DPF woes although the tech has probably improved since yours was produced. In any event Toyotas are very needy when it comes to servicing.

Belker probably makes a copy of the first repair invoice and puts a new date on it for tax reasons...That's the only explanation I can think of.The car is fine and he's working the heap in to the ground.

If it's genuinely broken hopefully the garage is doing the work under warranty.

Neither my MKII nor MKIII Octys were ever off the road for maintenance, bar a couple of crash repairs with the downtime paid by TPs insurance.

Getting back to matters Prius... how many sub €25 hours did you have to work to pay for the replacement hybrid battery in the heap that barely lasted another fortnight?

Belker it would have been cheaper to do more oil changes with the high grade oil and not idle so much , everything is linked once one thing fails like pushing oil changes to the max it effects the turbo then the egr then the DPf, I've never had any dpf problems because I changed the oil every 10k and the DPf gets cleaned out every 250,000km, and I started using circle k miles extra diesel 3c of every litre.
