How did you manage to get it for 20k, I paid 30k for me Bz, that was after the 25k grant that I scraped me lovely prius for.

Don't know SB's answer but there was overstock on the ID4 for awhile and also Tesla dropped their prices and VW etc followed them a little bit.

And did you buy your Bz in Dennis Mahony's?  That might explain the high(er) price  :-X
Yeah I bought mine in Dennis Mahonys, MD motors worked out 3k more expensive at the time. The Bz was 56k when I bought it and now the can be bought for 44k after the seai grant. Big price drop there

Nice car good price

Over €40k from authorised dealers... if it looks like a duck....
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Still very popular in the USA. The UK stopped taking them a few years ago.
Trump has called for help, so I'm on a plane heading for The Strait of Hormuz, talk soon.

My only complaintt about it. The internal volume of the cabin is too small because of the very sloped, aerodynamic, front and rear windows, and low roof height, making the volume of 4 passenger's conversation often too loud, and all round visibility not as good as one might like.

It was €49,906 in 2022. The MFCU were utter c**ts and turned down my loan application.

They would only use my Covid years tax returns 20/21 and didn't budge.

I reapplied in 2024, and the MFCU still turned me down.

There was no talking to the clowns.

Tesla dropped their prices in the EU in January 2024.

So now the base model was less than 38K.

The government were promoting small businesses through  : https://microfinanceireland.ie/?_gl=1%2Aosgqhq%2A_up%2AMQ..%2A_gs%2AMQ..&gclid=Cj0KCQiAu8W6BhC-ARIsACEQoDDh9zthdCpRwOLAT1cnXd9GtLPCXtt32MeRsXNnlw6BMh9C8_skWh4aArzUEALw_wcB

They were a dream to deal with.

When I got loan approval of €25K over the phone I went car hunting on the net.

The above car was selling at 41,000.28.

Mrs.Bullet got an interim loan of 17K to fully finance the purchase.

I picked up the car from https://www.blackwatermotors.ie/  and drove it back to Dublin.

While I was getting the car plated and stickered I sold the 131KE Prius (with a six-month-old battery), to Stuart in mechanic24 for the princely sum of a Grand.

So, after that, I got the 20K from the NTA.

€49,906.00 -
€41,000.00=
€8906.00.

€49906.00-
€8906.00-
€20,000-
€1,000.00=

€20,000.00

MD Motors wanted €43,500 for the 286 BHP model. (They also wanted the Prius thrown in).

I was happy enough with the 174 BHP PRO model.

The Avensis hasn't sold well in a long time.A lot of them came in from the UK.

Don't get attached to the the Avensis name  Belker it means zero. They all come out of the same factories. If the Avensis model was still around it would likely be hybrid only and cost 45k.

If you will spend 45 then why not 50 for the Camry which is a better car?

You could get lucky and get a two year old Camry with 10k+ off the price and a full warranty from Toyota.

That model has gone up to 44k for 2025 in that same website. Why aren’t electric prices coming down? When Stats show a decline in electric buying. Interesting 3 year olds id4 selling over 25k. Not bad at all

You did well there SB.
I had a pisshead taxi rental driver in the car who told me the EV, with its 548 km range, would be no good to him.

What would he do if he got a €550 job to Cork or a multi-drop job to Kerry for €660 from one of the airlines?

I told him I bought the car in Fermoy and drove back to Dublin with less than 50% range used.

He argued that on a long-distance trip punters would not like to stop while I charged the car for between 10 and 30 minutes.

When I got outside his gaff he wanted to pay a tenner towards the fare in cash and tap for €5.00. There was no internet. So he gave me €3.00 in coins and said can I owe you €2.00? rofl

Cheers MK. Some would argue I should have saved €150 a week until 2026 when the Prius was to be retired, and buy a second-hand Prius.

My choice was to pay €121.00 per week from June of this year and be virtually maintenance-free.

Well, that cheap fecker obviously has the taxi game sussed, not paying the full fare + tip to a comrade  >:D

If someone spent 3 or 4 hours sitting on a plane, followed by another potential 3 or 4 hours sitting in a car, you can be damn sure they'd take a coffee break after an hour or two!  Even if it was just for 10 mins of fresh air (& a secret scratch of their balls  :P )
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.
