Both Dublin Bus and gardaí have both confirmed they are investigating an incident in which a passenger was threatened by a teenager with a screwdriver.
The incident that was recorded and has since gone viral online, shows a teenager threatening a Ukrainian passenger with a long screwdriver in his hand.

He subjects the man to a series of homophobic and racist slurs while indicating the screwdriver in his hand.



In one part of the video, the youth can be heard shouting “I'm going to stick it in ya …you think I won’t” as he brandishes the screwdriver.

At one point he reaches into his pocket and partially pulls out what appears to be a pair of pliers.

He also lunges at the person recording the incident and attempts to grab the phone.

He continues to threaten the passenger and taunts them, by urging him "you do something" before claiming he will "smack him over the face" with the screwdriver.

He then stands up and screams in his face “do you want to get busted" before telling him to get off the bus.

A garda spokesperson said they were “aware of a video of an incident that occurred on a Dublin Bus service, and which is in wide circulation online and through direct messaging apps”.

“An Garda Síochána is investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the incident,” the spokesperson added.

Dublin Bus also said they aware of footage “showing an incident in which a passenger was threatened”.

“We are conducting an internal investigation, and can confirm that we are providing assistance to An Garda Síochána in relation to this incident,” a spokesperson said.

I'd say he'd be more than threatened if some of his compatriots got hold of him.... but then why would he defend his own country when he gets a free gaff and the equivalent of a months wages every week from our Government?

The Govt significantly reduced their money and moved to charge rent on the Ukranians awhile back.   Co-incidently, the numbers coming in dropped dramatically around the same time    Probably why he was slumming it on the bus as well?  He mighta gotten a taxi if Dr Leo was still in charge

The only reference to teenager that I can see refers to the perpetrator.
