I got that one too and similarly ignored it. DVLA is in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I guess someone told them... it wasn't me! Hold out for the 30 notes anyway. I got the same exciting news by email too.... but much more exciting 'cos it was signed by the lovely Lucy!

Can you drive (for reward) on a non-EU licence in this country?

I think you're allowed have a foreign car in this country for 6 months before you have to register it as an Irish car.  How long do 'tourists' get to drive around on a foreign licence?

Unless they've changed the rules in the last 20 odd years the answer is Yes. A colleague/competitor of mine back then held a British licence. Short story long... when he decided to take up taxi driving he thought he had to sit an Irish driving test so did and ended up with an Irish licence without swapping or otherwise surrendering his British one. He then found out that he could've got the SPSV licence using the British licence without even exchanging it for an Irish one - that's what another colleague/competitor of his done. He did keep the British one in his phoca from then until it expired (he didn't renew it) to provide options in the event of being stopped for an offence that could lead to penalty points or endorsement... although, in truth, it was more a wind up for the rest of us 'cos he was the kinda bloke that wouldn't even dream of breaking the rules of the road.

You should read and learn Horse rather than squibble and bicker !

Yesterday on here we prob had the most informative days discussions ever as most of the drunken retard posters thankfully must have actually went to work, but sadly both yourself and Octy returned to turn it back in to the usual Circus fer Idiots.

I know that Horse but there is a time and place fer everything, as I said yesterdays discussions without yourself or Octy present were fer a change informative, intelligent and lots of different views were expressed without the usual retarded posters just on here fer a birra craic to slag everything and turn most topics in to pantomines fer their own personal amusement..
