Healthy competition between the 3 filling stations there. Right beside the airport too so Certa and Airport Energy are probably chasing the taxi and car rental markets while Top is after the freight firms, buses and truckers.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Applegreen makes more money on food I would imagine with the prices they charge.

I worked with AVIS. If the renter didn't bring the car back full, they were charged the highest permissible price per litre. That's where a lot of the profit came from.

I'm surprised people are still using fossil fuel.

Yeah... occasionally they get competitive on fuel prices... but I guess when Certa was the main competitor as far as fuel is concerned folk would still pop into Applegreen for a piss and might buy food/drink while they're at it. I see a lot of men with large appetites loitering on their forecourt while waiting to pay extortionate commission and car parking fees for Free Now jobs from DAP. That can't be bad for business.

Indeed, SB... I'd guess it'd be mostly corporate clients that couldn't give a flying fuck about the price of fuel that wouldn't bother filling up.

I was going to buy logs from Applegreen, but just as I pulled in, lo and behold there was a bum wrapped in a blanket loitering outside the door tapping all and sundry. A homegrown bum too.

It's amazing where they get the energy to get out there.

I did a u-turn and bought from McCleod's on the Baskin instead.

He was having a gargle last time I went in. I asked him if he could spare a can on my way out... told him I was out over a fuckin hour trying to get the price of a few cans out of the cab.

Made a few quid on Applegreen shares before they went private during Covid ---when they launched on market they were 6 quid I think by Covid 2.30--then taken private 4.70
Two guys who started in Stafford's--old garage in Amiens st and Ballyfermot rd--have to hand it to them --one of them built a mansion on Coliemore Rd

Reading one of their annual reports the CFO commented on the Premium price for they get for fuel---which I thought was too honest for a CFO

1.675 to be precise... I got a Free Now full fare job up to Dublin within minutes of saying I'd have a look at it... the electronic spies were on the ball!

More questions like this please! ....
If you happen to be passing Kilmartins Texaco service station in Athlone have a peep in at their fuel prices ?  lol

Two pages about a petrol station!  I've heard of trainspotters and planespotters but this...?

Maybe Admin should open a new section where youse can share your views about all the different petrol stations you visit around Dublin and further afield.  You could rate them and award the winner with a Golden Lollipop at the end of the year  :P
