I can't imagine the mirror assembly is much different from previous MG models.I'd say it could be made back into a working taxi with some creative use of Superglue. The radars and camera might throw up some errors but the car will still drive.

Does the insurance provide a rental in this situation while the car is off the road?If so they might just write it off as it would be a fair few quid to pay out rental for two or three months. They might get a decent bid on it at the auctions too.

Probably easy enough to buy the wrong bits if you don't know what you're looking at... scrapyards are probably best visited in person, getting in front of the metal with used notes in your hand will probably get you a better deal anyway.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

No they say it was STOLEN not involved in a Road Traffic Incident .I suppose the thinking being Lad going for two weeks to Torravhekkia might report car stolen if he could get paid while its off the Road and then find it when he gets home parked up in Super Value Rowlagh Car Park .

Try the EV breakers up North first but if that doesn't work...

Random info from Wikipedia:

1. SAIC, the parent company of MG5 has a business relationship with Volkswagen in China called, guess what, SAIC Volkswagen.   A quick look suggests SAIC just makes VW cars in China under licence but it may be possible that VW parts fit MGs?  I dunno.

2. The European MG5 EV is known as the Roewe Ei5 in China.  The Roewe i5 is also a petrol/hybrid

If he does goes shopping on Aliexpress etc, he's more likely to find a Roewe part rather than a MG5 which was only sold in Europe.

Random thought - maybe pop into 24hr mechanics or Bobo motors.  Didn't they buy/sell/rent a lot of MG5 taxis?  RC's database might list the biggest owners of MG taxis?  Maybe they have a line on a supplier or they might do the repair themselves?

I wouldn't let Mechanic24 change a wheel under supervision.

Still not making any sense to me why someone would break in to anothers house and steal the keys of a Fookin Lecky car and then abandon it 5km away, somewhere where the Gardai could easily find it ?

It makes No Sense to me ??

Ken they rob 4 or 5 cars .Two possibly to go raid the Place they want to rob then they park off the other cars on approach roads so they can change motor .A taxi with 4 or 5 people in it would not look suspicious .
That is a Far-Fetch and still makes no sense to me.

https://www.rte.ie/news/primetime/2021/0525/1223889-daithi-douglas-murder-cctv-evidence/

Quote
The murder plot that day involved the use of four vehicles – two stolen cars and two legitimately owned cars that were "borrowed" for use that day.

A Mercedes stolen in June 2016 from Dublin’s Navan Road was the "murder car".  It was burnt out close to Francis Street minutes after the murder. A Suzuki Swift, which was stolen in Greystones in Co Wicklow, was the so-called "swap car".  After the murder, after snaking its way along city streets, the swap car was left at a coastal car park near the Martello Tower in Dublin’s Sandymount.  Many of the cars’ movements were caught on camera. Over 1,500 hours of CCTV footage was analysed by gardaí investigating the murder.

Detective Garda Ciarán Byrne gave evidence at the trials at the Special Criminal Court about the gathering of footage throughout south Dublin relating to that day.  Each piece of footage was analysed by detectives frame by frame, and evidence relevant to the movement of the cars was accepted by the court as evidence relating to the murder.

Two other cars were also of importance – a Ford Fiesta and a Mitsubishi Mirage. Both of those cars were moving around the south city at pertinent times.  Shortly before 10am that morning, some six hours before the murder, the Ford Fiesta had escorted the stolen Suzuki from the Dublin 6 area towards the south city.  The Suzuki was parked up close to the Grand Canal, as was the stolen Mercedes.

An important piece of evidence in the case related to something that would have seemed so innocuous to passers-by that day.  The criminal cell responsible for the murder of Mr Douglas had to pay parking meters a number of times during the day.  This was so as not arouse any suspicion about the vehicles, and to ensure that the cars were not clamped before they could be used later that day in the murder plot.

A few minutes before 4pm that afternoon, the two stolen cars were "activated" and began making their way into the south inner city.

I count 6 cars in that murder...

There was also a time during the Hutch-Kinahan feud (over 20 dead) when the higher-up drug dealers were using taxis to get around (anonymous, no CCTV) and to try and get through armed Gardai checkpoints in the inner city.  It's quite an experience to drive someone who has that 'aura' and you know they're a very bad person.  They're very quiet and they don't need to shout they're 'bad people' - you just know.

It'd be better if they did complain so you could explain that it's a premium rate. The vast majority that just silently bend over leave thinking that's what a taxi costs at any time effectively reducing demand at off-peak times.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

So heres the latest .The insurance are refusing to cover the Full Labour Costs .They say they pay MAX 80 Euro labour per Hour .MG want 125 and they say they will not cover the full labour costs and if they did it could result in a 12% increase in Insurance costs for EVs .As the car was stolen The Owner cannot claim for loss of earnings as he would be claiming off of himself .

Who is the insurance company anyway so we can try stay away from them?

I don't see how this is an EV problem. All cars are expensive to repair. There's nothing different about an MG interior that's EV specific.
