The lad going to fix it was saying the reason they pulled out the front facing unit ,might be because that contains the tracker relays information on location of  other vehicles and operated warning and braking system .By ripping it out it disconnects the tracker if you have the App .

Have the enforcement officers knocked on his door looking for their €10-20k back yet?

SO BEWARE Talking to the lad who had his motor stolen .You remember he brought it to MG and they gave him a quote but the insurance Company said they would not accept that Estimate as it exceeded their Hourly rate for labour .JOB DELAYED .They then sent out their assessor who sent the Driver to their PREFERED repairer and he quoted more for the job but the hourly rate for labour was within the range but they quoted for more hours /(MAKE THAT MAKE SENSE ) So now the latest is the Prefered repairer who got the job from the Insurers cannot access all the parts to do the job .The Driver has refused to bring the car anywhere else as it has been asigned by the insurance to this Garage .Now if they cannot repair it in a Reasonable Time ,Is he entitled to ask them to write it off as unrepairable ?

It's still off the road, then. Dis the garage who took on the job ask him to bring it elsewhere? One would imagine it'd be up to them to farm it out themselves (with or without his knowledge/agreement) if that's what they need to do?

They did and he rang me and I told him to say its been assigned to you ,your problem .I also suggested a Solicitors letter to Insurers requesting they write it off as irreparable . Its getting ridiculous now .

What would a 1yo? ex taxi MG be worth? Would he get enough to reimburse NTA and buy another car?

I'd say he'd love to find the little scrotes that nicked it and give them a good kicking.

They only have the short range MG4... they're virtually giving them away so one would assume it's being replaced with a new model.
