Just about Chinese repairs....I was texting Hal and he got his car sorted last week after 17 weeks.6 weeks waiting on diagnosis and the rest waiting for parts and getting another appointment to repair it.Took them two days in the workshop.Apparently it was a 3k part.

He had use of his car but they deemed it not to be a priority because it was still possible to fast charge it on the public chargers.Hope he gets no more grief. His yoke has 120000km.

Honestly if I was buying again tomorrow,Hal's story and my own dealings with MSL would be enough to turn me off the electric heap.

Light bulb for an ID4 is c.€1,500 -vs- €4 for my MKIII Octy. The whole world is gone mad, so it is.

120k in a little over 2 years... Fair play, I don't know where ewes get the energy from... no wonder he has no time to type shite with us anymore but his charging issue doesn't seem to have held him back to any great extent. FFS, I've done c.160k since I bought my MKIII Octy in 2019!

I suspect all modern cars are the same with consolidated body parts - remember when bumpers where just a bit of metal bolted onto the car?  Now it's a grand or more (plus the whiplash claim) if you tip another car!

They're cheaper to make but they also make a fortune further down the road as they need replacing.  Feckers  >:D

Just on that point John, a lot of new cars (ice and ev) alot of electric parts have to be paired to the new car as the secondhand part still thinks it’s in the old car and won’t talk to the car your putting it into. Not as simple as plug and play technology in cars any more nearly every part that’s been changed in a car in the last 4ish years has to be electronically paired to the car. (Window motors, headlight units, infotainment systems et al)
