Uber Cash Rides
« on: July 15, 2025, 01:42:30 pm »
I done my first one ever yesterday morning. The offer screen has changed from a distinctive one that just said cash with no desto to one the same as normal (card) jobs complete with desto, the only difference being "Uber Cash" instead of "Uber" in the title bar, hardly noticeable whilst driving or playing fastest finger first... not that it matters, with Uber the fare is guaranteed anyway.

Anywaysanall, it has the same discount issue as Bolt Cash Discounts i.e. you don't know that there's a discount until you enter the fare ... which I habitually do after the client has settled up and fucked off. So, yesterdays job metered €68.xx so, being a nice cunt, I asked for €65 and was given €70. After the client's gone I discover that I should have collected €54 (I entered the €65 I asked for, not the €70 I was given)... so I end up getting €81 less commission less VAT and the client most likely ends up thinking I knowingly robbed her.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Uber pay you the balance, commission & VAT Free... as did/do Bolt. It's not like Free Now where you give the discount and they trouser the full commission. The issue is they don't tell you they're financing a discount until you get round to entering the fare on the app.
