Predicament ?
« on: August 27, 2025, 12:25:11 am »
I had this predicament a while back after dropping a fare about 5km outside the city at about 2am in the morning, when the fare was completed there was an animal in the road about 15 meters ahead of me that had been struck by a car, the animal was still alive and convulsing and rolling over turbulently on the road with blood and guts hanging out, it was so badly injured that I could not tell if it was a small fox or a big cat, but it was in terrible agony, and no way was any Vet ever going to put this creature back together.

My predicament whilst alone on the rural road was whether to roll over it's head and put it out of it's misery OR drive away and leave it to die a slow painful death ?

Ken did you run over someone's cat and are now here seeking to lesson the guilt feelings by somehow saying you arrived as the saviour to end this poor creatures suffering?

If you still had the vodka bottles in the boot, you could have flambéd it and had dinner on the go!
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.

Imagine if you ran over it but didn't finish it off, then you had to keep driving over it until you killed, it. And someone saw you doing it, they would think you were a psycho.  :(

Most thankfully the predicament was taken from me as 2 cars drove past my parked joe, the first one avoided the creature but the second one hit it dead on and killed it fully.

I think that if I had to make the decision it would have been to Kill it.

That would depend on where the person you ran over came from ??
