If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

If we we're cynical we might think this chap was concerned that Ubers fixed fare taxi work was gonna eat into his transfer business.

As far as I know Uber offer fairly competitive prices to passengers on longer jobs in the UK.

You only have to open your Uber Rider app to see that all fares are significantly subsidised. That has to be a threat to his core limousine business which can't be easy if you've spent years building it up.

However, I don't see how he or any of the other union officials (assuming there are others) can expect Uber to negotiate with a competitor. He, himself, offers fixed price taxis yet he doesn't (to my knowledge*) drive a taxi. It'd be like Free Now telling Uber it represents the 15,000 drivers it employs and expecting Uber to negotiate driver remuneration with them.

He's a busy bee ... updating his website ATM... I hope he's not letting down clients that have booked over a year in advance!

Charges over a ton an hour for his tours so he's not short a few bob. Probably having a weekend in Dublin to do his Christmas shopping in Brown Thomas while the lads striking at his command will be lucky if they can afford a Lidl turkey on special offer come Christmas eve!

Run his plate through the app, L56667, not linked.

Plus, he's not a taxi driver.
