Free Now Hospitality Fares
« on: December 01, 2025, 03:41:23 pm »
I opted out as soon as there was an option to opt out.

How much do they cost these days and are they worth doing?
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

I think the hospitality commission is 20%.

If I want to get northside I take them but always drastically reduce the fare on the input screen....usually to 50% of whatever I got to reduce their commission take. They probably flag my account for fraud but they haven't banned me yet.

I get so little off Freenow that it doesn't really bother me if I'm blocked at this stage.Last week I covered more on Bolt than Freenow. If all they have is taxi saver work I'm not really interested in being honest with them.

Some might say if you don't agree with the company policy then delete the app but it was my hard work that allowed them in so it's their problem if drivers no longer feel the need to cooperate with their terms and conditions.Same goes for Uber.

My OCD makes me honest. If I agree to something I have to stick to it. However, I wouldn't go as far as to discourage anyone else from fiddling a bit here and there. Fair play... and as for that Uber crowd... Don't get me started!

I thought OCD was supposed to make ya great at hoovering...

Most of hospitality jobs from the city hotels are to DAP.Most passengers are paying by card too so that's another 1.68% plus the 20% to keep in mind.

I'd say Lyft/Freenow are happy to get two or three euro for doing nothing so giving them 6 or 7 seems excessive.

Indeed. So they went from taking the PUC to taking 20% commission instead. I wonder if that could be where Taxi Saver might end up?

Yes maybe RC and they'll say they've consulted their drivers and 20% on all jobs is just easier for calculating the wages.

The announcement will be made on January 7 like previous bad news and the emails will begin with the usual.... great news....thanks for covering the work over Christmas...here's how we're gonna screw yis...trust us we're on your side.

You should apply for a job in the depot!
