Wall Box
« on: April 22, 2026, 11:22:39 am »
Had to do a Mc iver for me Cousin yesterday .His Wall Box brand EV charger refused to charge his motor .He rang them got the usual no help .Talked to a lad on the rank in The Mill Clondalkin his Charger refused to Charge .Stuff they did not tell you when you bought them .They are Clever chargers need access to the internet for updates like changing the time on the Clock or whatever Voodoo they do .So Asked a mate who had one he said disconnect the set time charging on the Car app as there were conflicting times .That worked for him .So I plugged my car in to the charger with no set timing on the app and it charged immediatly .But if you want to programme the car to charge at cheap rate you must turn it on yourself .But The problem seems to be with Wall Box brand updating .If you do not have WI Fi in the house .You can Hot Spot off your phone go into your app and tell it to find Hotspot and it will update making it programmable .

It happened me with the zappi where the car didn't automatically receive an update so it didn't charge overnight.

I manually updated it after calling the installer but what the fuk update would a car charger need that's already been working perfectly for three years.Maybe the dumber charger the better for longevity.

The installers never told anybody about updates .

When I looked up the reason apparently there was a bug that allowed hackers to access the charger/WiFi.

I'd have been raging if I was wanting a full charge for the next day.

I really think the internet is the worst things humans ever invented. All of the worlds problems in the last 30 years can be traced back to the internet.

Anything that requires an online connection to operate is always going to be vulnerable to hackers and cause infinite amounts of frustration.

The dumber the better!
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.
