Heading home c. 1.50 this am around The Green, up Camden ST, wall to wall yellow lights, same through Ranelagh, a reminder of bad days past. €261 net for 9 hours. I reckon that's near enough to min wage + expenses for weekend night work.
Same down here Harry, held just about a 30 per hour dart average fer a long Sunday, all tariff 2.

...... I opted out ages ago.
Opting out will get you great Brownie points on here and bragging rights on the rank BUT 95% of all FN work is now Saver jobs, so if'n your non ambassador then you might as well delete the app rather than Opt out.

I've been opted out of the taxi saver work for a long time and just recently I've noticed I'm getting more offers of full fares. The only reason I can think of is drivers leaving off Freenow since the membership of Tapataxi is growing.

Let's be serious here the lads that were willingly covering discounts for months won't suddenly email Freenow to opt out. They'll just delete it or leave it off realising they've been duped.

Freenow/Lyft would wanna watch out as the co-op could very quicky take their drivers and then their customers. They already lost a lot of work to Uber. All it takes is a few hundred more drivers to turn off and they're cooked.

It's not so much the Saver jobs that have caused the slow down, the amount of folk around town has dramatically decreased in the past year or so and the amount of taxis has increased or maybe even DOUBLED !

Looks good Watty. A relative of mine signed up about a month ago and I think his membership number was 1400 or somewhere close. Won't be long before Tapataxi have 2000 drivers if they don't already.

Correct me if I’m wrong here lads.
Are the FreeNow ambassador/gold medal/priority taxis proud to be offering a 25% fee ?
Was it only 9% commission a few years ago and now it’s 25%.
In what industry with fuel prices so high is offering such a big discount.
Just goes to show that FreeNow are not on the side of the taxi driver.
But best of luck to the drivers who are willing to cover the discount work.

Have ya seen the price of electricity!  Very expensive to run computers nowadays so that's why the commission is so high (probably)...

I heard FN are trying to reduce costs by importing some Polish hamsters to generate electricity in-house using threadmills  :-X  If that doesn't work out, they might scrape the barrel and use Ambassador taxi drivers in the threadmills.  They'll work for almost nothing  :P

A punter was telling me he got an EV off Connolly Station up above in Dublin and when he went to put his luggage in the boot there was four immigrants running nowhere in one of them wheel yokes getting the batteries charged up for their shifts anall..
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

I was of the impression that when a FN rider booked a SAVER fare then the driver was charged 25% commission of which FN took 15% and the customer got a 10% discount off their fare ??   Seemingly I was wrong !

From the FN newsletter;  Why Join the Saver Fleet?

● More consistent work: Drivers who opt out miss out on approximately 18%
more trips compared to their colleagues in the Saver Fleet.

● Less waiting, more earning: You can now turn on the meter after just 2
minutes of waiting, ensuring your time is always compensated.

● A fairer earnings model: We have moved to a 75:25 model to keep your
earnings directly tied to the meter.

How it works: To keep passenger demand high and your car moving,
we reinvest the additional 10% directly into passenger incentives.
This strategy ensures a steady stream of bookings even during quieter periods.

Belker you have wayyyyyy to much trust in these US owned apps.

Lyft is exactly like Uber. They will say whatever it takes to get the gimps to cover the work. Lyft has to report to Wall street. If they're not consistently growing profits then they are failing and the stock drops and they lose investment money needed to buy robotaxis.

They know that Mohammed or whatever will work for as low as x per hour in the UK or US and will run the prices down on our work until that's all you're getting all the time.

There's probably very little you can do to fight back in Cork until you have an alternative except opt out of this work.

It's simple enough, Ken. If you pay 25% you get the offers first. If you opt out of 25% you get the odd offer restricted to jobs they can't cover at 25% so you keep their clients satisfied by covering the excess and pay 15% commission for doing so. Supply and demand.
