Brendan O'Carroll cancels Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas specials

Brendan O'Carroll has announced the Mrs Brown’s Boys Christmas and New Year’s specials have been cancelled as he faces an "unexpected medical issue".

The 70-year-old creator and star of the show announced in a statement that the recordings would not be going ahead as he required "immediate surgery".

He wrote: "It is with sincere regret I must announce that due to an unexpected medical issue I will have to cancel the recordings of the 2026 Mrs Brown’s Boys Christmas and New Year’s Specials.

"Following a CT Scan, it was found that I had two fractures in my mandible (jaw) which requires immediate surgery and a few months recovery."

He also announced that he would have to postpone his Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Panto? shows in Dublin and Killarney, which were scheduled for later this year.

Broke his jaw so he might not even be able to speak  yippee

Always wondered what blackmail material O'Carroll & that Killinascully guy had on RTE & BBC management.  One of life's mysteries why these 2 shows are on TV so much?

I think Muslims pray 5 times a day?  Maybe he's doing for a bit of peace & quiet from the prison officers.  Or he's just doing it to annoy them?

I think Friday is their Sabbath... I remember thinking the gobshites were starting another protest when I drove along SCR up above in Dublin of a Friday evening a while back... forgot the Mosque is beside the Stadium.

Makes you wonder why taxi fares are higher on a Sunday, I guess...

I believe they all behave themselves (for their version of ) Mon-Fri, then fly to UAE (?) and go a bit wild for the weekend...  ::cheers

There is no Islamic sabbath. Pray on Friday and back to work in the taxi/corner shop. etc.
