Free Now Wait & Save
« on: August 18, 2026, 12:19:53 pm »
Junk mail from Free Now:

FREENOW for Drivers

More demand on your terms

Taxi Saver is now called Wait & Save.

Keeping Wait & Save active in your fleet settings gives you steady access to passengers who value flexible fares.

Here is why it works for your daily routine:

More demand: regular riders choose Freenow more often when lower fares are available

Less idle time: fill gaps between jobs to stay busy throughout your shift

Full control: toggle the option on or off anytime in your fleet settings

Drivers using Wait & Save see up to 11% better earnings, 16% more bookings and 18% less waiting time between trips. Keep the work coming in on your schedule.

Open the app

At Freenow we act as an intermediary between taxi-and-private-hire-vehicle-drivers, company owners, providers of other mobility solutions, and you as a passenger or rider.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

I think SAVER will be the downfall of FN, I as their one time most loyal Ambassador have 1.99 legs out the FN door !

During Covid I held an unbelievable FN Gold/Ambassador status record of 60 jobs per week fer almost the entire 2 years of Covid and fer my Reward today they offer me SAVER jobs only !

To quote the actor Michael Caine; "Not many people know that" FN SAVER jobs offer a 10% discount taken from drivers earnings (Not FN's) on FN account jobs and the customer gets a 10% reduced fare on Account. BUT if the customer books a SAVER job on cash or pay by card they get No discount at all but FN still charges the driver 25% commission and FN trouser the entire 25% commission with some wishy-washy promise to use the extra 10% to enhance new driver promotions at some later date ??

The Scorpion & the Frog

Quote
A scorpion wants to cross a river but cannot swim, so it asks a frog to carry it across. The frog hesitates, afraid that the scorpion might sting it, but the scorpion promises not to, pointing out that it would drown if it killed the frog in the middle of the river. The frog considers this argument sensible and agrees to transport the scorpion. Midway across the river, the scorpion stings the frog anyway, dooming them both. The dying frog asks the scorpion why it stung despite knowing the consequence, to which the scorpion replies: "I am sorry, but I couldn't help myself. It's my character.

FN / American Lyft was never our friend...  They (ab)use us to make money for their (mostly) American shareholders  >:D

It took me a long time to realise it but we're the ones with the Govt licences and the vehicles but soooo many companies with neither suck our blood to make their money.  Maybe TaT co-op is the solution?

Some of that makes no sense, Ken... the facts I mean not your sentiment.

I had a look at the rider app this morning... it's not possible to order a Wait & Save ride with the pay driver directly option, you must pay by card through the app.

If they are charging you an extra 10% commission that is not enough to give the rider 10% discount. On a €100 fare, for example, you would pay an extra €10.00 of which Free Now would realise a contribution of €8.13 (the extra you pay before VAT @ 23%) yet the rider would receive a discount of €10.00 before any applicable technology/surge fees.

In practice all fares are obviously offered at 25% commission inc. VAT first and the ones they can't cover at that rate are then, and only then, offered at 15% commission inc. VAT.

With all due respect Ken,I was with Hailo from the start then MyTaxi and Freenow and no rival app until the stickers came along and I refused to  put them on my car and got shafted, you're only a number to them despite your "Service" stickers and stars.

I was thinking the same myself but the Cash job offers on FN SAVER are definately coming through, I have seen a lot of them, I even did one.

May I refer the honourable member for Cork to the last sentence of my previous contribution i.e.

In practice all fares are obviously offered at 25% commission inc. VAT first and the ones they can't cover at that rate are then, and only then, offered at 15% commission inc. VAT.

If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.
