Cunts was my initial thought... but I guess parking is at a premium in all these new housing schemes so why should they let untaxed motors clog the place up?
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

The theory was that those new(-ish) apartments were granted planning permission with no parking because everybody was supposed to cycle or get the luas into town.  Guess what happened in real life - turns out (normal) people don't like cycling or mixing with the other plebs on the luas...

Why work a miserable 9-5 job if you can't reward yourself with something nice like a car?

Same idea is happening with the new planned 'town' out Walkinstown Rd way.  They're trying to have minimal or no parking.  But Mr White Van Man is not going to park his van+expensive tools 500m away in a communal parking zone.
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.

If they reward themselves with a car they must pay the motor tax. FFS... even taxi owners who are, at least theoretically, contributing to reducing reliance on private car ownership as a means of commuting have to pay motor tax.
