The men.
Uber fixed fares.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

There is a whatsapp group of taxi drivers I am a member with some others on here we have other non taxi interests .Today NONE of us worked in support but not participating in this event .It cost each of us a days wages to support others I was always a Union member Boiler Makers Union unfortunately a UK based union as I needed to be a member to weld pressure vessels .

I have got no reports of todays Strike .But like I said nobody put their name to this event .No so called Union we do not have a Union as we are independent Business owners or Rep bodies seem to have supported this action .I think its one fucktard with multi Face Book pages thinks he is intelligent but is a pathetic fucking Idiot .Causing Strife for men trying to earn a living .

Saqib Butt from "TAXI DRIVER's DUBLIN" is organising another one for next Tues (13th Oct).  I'm not on Facebook so can't see the details... https://www.facebook.com/groups/179056639508243/posts/2334591550621397/

The one planned for the 13th is the only one I was aware of.

Like Watty, I don't do Facebook but I usually hear about these things through WhatsApp or on here. I didn't read anything about yesterday's action anywhere.

Fair play to you and your group for supporting it anyway, erm... do you know which union(s) organised it and/or joined your group in supporting it and what your demands were or are?

If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

AH I was sent a Video of a Non National driver addressing the committee complaining about having to rent licences .I wonder if all this nonsence is connected .If they call themselves Dublin Taxi Drivers who do they represent ..Definitely not me .Intellectual retards they knew what they were getting into when they became drivers .Bit like Big Dommos sister getting a Tattoo when she was 20 now regretting it .They bought the Dispatchers crap of our Best drivers were earning more than a Doctor bullshit paid for Crypmobiles big insurance huge comissions and now want to cry over the beast they were mostly responsible for creating .

Comrades,

I wonder if youse could have another strike on Tues morning, 27th Oct?  I'm heading to the airport on personal business and I don't want to get stuck in traffic.

Thanks XOX

I don't think there was a protest yesterday. I think the erm got the erm end of the stick... but it's the thought that counts, I guess.

I also got another message .It says its from a Rep body if it is they can post it .They are asking the Minister about the validity of Certain Driving Licences which have been Swapped sometimes in another EU country First before being swapped for an Irish one .They are also asking about people entering the Jurisdiction to complete Taxi Test  Meaning they may of completed some sort of on line course and have absolutely no first hand knowledge of the area they might qualify to provide a service in .

GAME IS FUCKED AND JUST A GAME NOW .

That's the semi literate letter allegedly written by Jim Waldron that's doing the rounds. Might be genuine... rehash of the old concerns about how dangerous taking a taxi in Ireland is with all dem unvetted immigrants raping and murdering our clients every night anall.

We know Free Now has been running distance learning courses across India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc for several years now, nothing new in that.

It's possible that the traditional unions are becoming surplus to requirements with the new wave of WhatsApp groups and clutching at straws a bit to justify their fee income.

What was in the ThichTok that made you take the day off work. Did they just ask you to withdraw your service for the day or were they supposed to hold a protest and/or mention the name of their group or what their demands are or wha? ... and why didn't you tell us before the event?

You asked me that in this thread on 3rd October when we were discussing the protest planned for the 13th.

You only mentioned yesterday's protest/strike last night, after it supposedly took place. I reckon you somehow mixed the days up ifn I'm honest.
