In what way was the failure "due to events beyond mytaxi's control (for example a network failure) or failure of a third party service provider (e.g. a payment services provider)"?

Actions might include one passenger punching another, inactions might include a third passenger refusing to intervene...

Off topic a bit...but I did read some posts on twitter where passengers accused mytaxi of fraud because someone else got in their cab and charged the account without the customer onboard. On some occasions the app has been flagged as bogey by the banks for being associated with so many similar issues.

Happens from time to time MfH, I guess. One would assume mytaxi refund such charges without quibble unless there's clear evidence that the cardholder took the journey.

Roger, erm... just posted in Sport looking for pointers.

If the passenger gets a notification that he's onboard but infact still standing in the pissin rain, they should be ringin the driver to tell him he'd better not charge their account!!
Given that most people have their phones permanently attached to their hands, they never seem to see the "arrived" notification but they probably know that their sisters boyfriend cousins sister status on facebook is "havin a shite in the Shelbourne"

We have nearly come full circle Shallow .What happens if the customer cancels when the actual passenger the taxi was intended for is on board because they realized they were paying by card or possibly realized that there would be a record of the trip possibly from their house to their wives best friends gaff while the missus was away competing in the Shot Putt or long Hop in the Taltan Games .

One would assume that's why passengers can cancel after POB. However, let's complicate it a bit more, Séan and Shawn are at a party with 1,356 other students. 16 of the students Hail0 a mytaxi between 04:03 and 04:06 all using debit cards. Séan gets in with a driver looking for Shawn. Driver presses POB so Shawn gets a notification and goes out to find the driver. When Shawn can't find the driver he cancels the job and Hail0's another mytaxi. The driver that picked Séan up tells him the job is cancelled so he has to pay cash but Séan has no cash and he's lost his debit/ATM card...
