Met him more than once. He was outside the Croker hotel last yr's All Ireland final day with a few celebs from the GAA world. Chatted to anyone bothering to approach him. Lot more down to earth than some of the younger ones in RTE.

He was a true legend.

Fer me my most favoured moment of his was back in the mid Eighties
when a cyclist broke forward from the pack in the 'Tour de France',
the camera angle was from a helicopter miles above the riders up in the sky
and the riders looked like tiny Ants on our TV screen. Jimmy and only Jimmy
recognized the rider breaking away as being Stephen Roche.
He was correct.
