Got a job on Kevin street too on Saturday outside of the Starbucks...parked up pressed arrived blocking the bicycle lane and no proper room for cars to overtake me. Cancelled the job after 30 seconds. You can't just block off a main road into the city center because some gimp is queuing for his latte or whatever the fuk.A lot of app customers have never driven a car.No need for 5 mins waiting in a busy city. You want a taxi or you don't.

Got flagged down then on Cuffe street so no loss.

Yeah. Ireland has quite a lot of non-drivers now. As one UCD type said to me outside shops on Parnell St..."Cars are sooooooo yesterday dude". He was miffed at having to navigate his way past pedestrians and motorists whilst he cycled with his rainbow helmet and earphones.

Im guessing punters cancel MyPoxi jobs, becasue they hail a cab on the app while their leaving the house/work, they get outside and there's a taxi driving past,  and they hail it instead. Scrub fee should be introduced within 3 minutes of the cab being hailed. Scrub fee being €2 and the passenger pays.

Does the punter who cancels have to input a short story as to why they're cancelling?....doubt it!!

Actually, they do Hal. A young lady flagged me down a while back and asked how she cancels a mytaxi order noting that the button didn't work. I hadn't seen the rider app at that stage but guessed that she needed to type something to enable the submit button so I made that suggestion. Oh, what will I type says she? Just fill it with gibberish, says I. I can't do that, says she, will I just say I found a better looking driver on the street? No, says I, that makes me sound like a down and out. OK, says she, I'll type "other reason" 'cos I pressed the button that says other reason.

A few do that alright, FW. Some also Hail0 a mytaxi and an Uber simultaneously and let them race for the job. Funny enough, I was ranked at a college residence on Mon or Tues and noted that our future bright sparks haven't quite figured that one yet. Student after Student went in search of the Uber or mytaxi they'd hailo'd ignoring the line of cars that would save them €2. Slow learners the class of 2017!
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

@ Rodent young Consepta and her classmates like to use the app they think it stops old codgers like your self running them all over town and running up the meter .Conseptas aunty Bridget tell the story of arriving at Heuston and wanting to go to Saint Patricks Hospital on Stephens Hill and how the driver took her almost half way into the city to turn up Wathling Street before giving her a tour of Guinness as he sped down Jamses Street then turned down the hill to the Hospital .She said it was quicker to walk down the Hill to the train than it was to take a taxi .Young Consepta remembered that story and two euro spent on an E hail might save her a few cent in the real world .Did you check if the students were loaded up with free vouchers .

Dunno erm, some of those mytaxi drivers are worse than DAA licensed thieves, didn't one charge 40 notes for putting a bag of toys in the boot around Christmas time?

Talking of Christmas, did you get your Christmas 2014 bonus from Hail0 yet?

Not that I'm aware of... assuming you mean loadsamoney (Dermot)... given that you originally typed Dermot, that seems to be a fair assumption.

Unlikely, students invariably pay cash so they can spend 8 minutes dividing €22 by 4.

John, what's the difference between a man's flute and a bonus?

You can rest assured she'll blow your bonus.
